according to urban dictionary it's any of these:
1) A tattoo above a woman's bum crack.
2) “Tramp Stamp” is a derogatory term referring to a tattoo which a women places on her lower back. It is especially popular among women born in the late 70’s, 80‘s, and even early 90’s. Fair or unfair, these tattoos have a socially constructed connotation associated with them. These women are labeled as tramps, whores, or other derogatory sexually promiscuous terms. Although these are often bias generalized claims, there have been sociological studies done by the American Psychological Association, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and other demographic researchers showing strong correlative evidence associating tattoos with high risk behavior, illegal substance abuse and sexual promiscuity. These risk factors are greatest in the age range which these types of tattoos are gaining main stream popularity. Some have also jokingly stated that by 2050, the “tramp stamp” will be renamed the “gramp stamp”.
3) a. a tattoo located above a womans ***.
b. a girl who has been certified by your neighborhood, frat or group of friends as a prostitute (in the polite sense, at least)
4) a horribly cliche, or common tattoo that makes girls look like dumb bitches. Found on the lower back, and usually a butterfly...sometimes a happy flower of some sort.
5)A tattoo on the lower back of a female. Denotes the perceived correlation between having a tattoo in this location and being sexually promiscuous. The larger the tramp stamp, the more promiscuous the female, goes the common lore. Popular designs include butterflies, flowers, vines, tribal designs, wings....
basically, a tatoo on the lower back of a woman which is normally a butterfly or something.

It's an unfair name attached to the once trendy tribal tattoo on the small of a girls back, overdone and over exposed, and maybe a poor choice for most as unless they are super fit it doesn't look flattering. I recall seeing an American girl at a British Tattoo Convention years ago with the most beautiful and possibly one of the first ever Tramp Stamps, large and incredibly colorful and detailed, done by Louis Molloy of London Ink fame, and she was by no way a tramp, and if this was a stamp, it was a very expensive one that every collector would relish.

Everyone has different opinions on what a tramp stamp is. To me, they are horrible tribal pieces that stretch from the middle outward, most likely having a butterfly, lotus flower in the center. Also any trashy lower back tattoo I consider a tramp stamp. I would get the butterfly maybe more on the upper part of the back where your back gets the skinniest, right there smack on your spine. A butterfly would look cute on the inner wrist as well. Remember, it's your body.. if you know you won't regret the image or the area it's tattooed on then go for it.

A tramp stamp is a tattoo on your lower back (just above the butt)
I would not go as far to call it a tramp stamp (what about all the guys out there with awful tats??)
Sadly though, some girls have got bad looking tats in that spot and it is the most common place to get a tattoo.

it called a tramp stamp because it looks really trashy as its right above the pants and beloew their tops and usually showing off half the bum and if they are wearing underwear all innocence i taken from anyone walking past....hmmm not a good look

A tattoo on a girl's lower back. It's called that because it's about the most common place that girls have them, it's right above their rear end, and often shows between their pants and tops.

a "tramp stamp" is a lower back tattoo.
girls and guys get them, but i'm pretty sure they just call it that for girls.
it's usually on the way lower back, right up above your butt crack.
mine is there, and i think it's extremely immature when people say "TRAMP STAMP!"
some guys call it this cause it's a good place to "aim"... when they're perverted.
girls say it too, but they're just jealous. ;)

It has already been well-defined, but around here, it is called a s - - t stamp. It wouldn't let me use that word. Just put the l and u in the middle.

Technically, it refers to any tattoo on a woman that becomes visible when bending over--and, some say, to any visible tattoo on a woman.
