Okay, this is a bit of a crazy question, but bear with me on this. Is there a fruit that, if you leave it for long enough, will start to leak fluid? ie when you come back after a certain amount of time it will have formed a small puddle?
Thanks.

decomposition does this to all fruit - may take 3-7 days

but yeah - that's why they rush it to market

Fruit and vegs seem to do this in the fridge - if you leave them at the bottom of the salad compartment and forget about them for a few weeks. Carrots are the worst.
In a fruit bowl they will tend to go mouldy and soft or shrivel up rather than leaking.

Water in decomposing fruit will tend to produce a syrup and gradually become more acidic speeding up the process.

When fruit over-ripens, the outer casing or shell will split to allow seeds/roots to access a nutritious growing medium (usually soil). It is possible that some of the internal juice will escape at this time and given the evaporation - this juice will be slightly concentrated.

Heh-heh-heh - Can I suggest a tin of pineapple chunks in pineapple juice???
