Why not in the general area of religion where many other non-muslims will also find chance to look up them and there knowledge will be enhanced and misunderstandings may be removed.

Brothers and Sisters Mohammed (SAW/Peace be upon him) when asked his people to be muslim and preached its rules then he got swear humiliation/absurd notions and even beatened and threatend to kill by the non muslims. Are we more respectable than HIM ...so we remain away from non muslims just because they insult us and our religion? Is not is our duty to show them right path? However here we may discuss islamic laws specifically any body wants an answer.

probably it's better to change the topic `Ramadhan' to `ISLAM' so that the scope is wider and to have sub topic of akidah-faith, muamalat- relationship, jinayah-crime/punishment, ibadah, hudud.

If Monkeys Still exist, why are there atheists? Wait I'm not clear who asked this question. But not so seriously- The real answer to your question is that all the other groups took over our forum. You see this is really supposed to be an LDS only or people who will be friendly to LDS forum, but everyone else took it over- and that is what we get. So we have to clarify that the questions are only for those who are really supposed to be in this forum in the first place. Ok GOSH!! But seriously- Sometimes there are questions asked that are really directed to those on this site who are of that religion, sometimes other groups would not understand or know the answer. Like if a Catholic person asked about becoming a Priest or something, most likely Catholics would be the best to answer, and the question should be directed to them. I don't see it as exclusive, just they are directing it to a certain group. Some Questions should be open to all though, many questions should be open to all. I think sometimes, multiple perspectives are a good thing. Edit** I would Like to see R&S divided into different religious categories though- however if it were, I am not sure I would know any R&S atheists.

As a non-Muslim who is married to a Muslim and trying to learn more about the quran, his religion and culture I come here to get honest answers from true Muslims. In the R&S section there are too many people who just want to spread hate and cause problems.

The first time I actually came to this section was to answer a contact's question. I then found there is much more being discussed here about the Muslim world than just Ramadan. I have been totally accepted here, made some new contacts and found lots of people who eagerly want to help me. Although a few people have found their way here just to cause trouble, most of the posters are seeking real answers to real questions and I find that refreshing and interesting. I still post sometimes in R&S, but hate having to go through all the juvenile and rude answers to get some information.

EDIT: After today's reactions to some of my answers and others from obvious non-Muslims (all the thumbs down) I see I may have spoken too soon about posters seeking real answers. Apparently they don't want any answers that disagree with them or are from a non-Muslim.

Mostly because you would get like 5 or more angry non-muslims who want to bash your faith and tell you you are wrong answering your question before your sister or brother answers it.
Now I know it should be a learning purpose but who said others don't have access to the Ramadan section. You can just be sure that there are more muslims in this section than others.
I am sure it gets irritating to some people when they ask questions like what did you do for eid and a bunch of non-muslims say you suck and your religion is silly.

I don't see anything wrong with it. If others want to learn YA shouldn't be the only thing but they are welcome to come to the Ramadan section. Not like I own it or anything. I just like to come here SOMETIMES and hear others out when I am free.

I think the answer is obvious and I agree with most of the other posters that there is too much Islamophobia on R&S for non-Muslims to be able to learn anything or for Muslims to be able to discuss anything seriously with each other.
With respects though, I'm a bit concerned about all the adverts and spam you seem to have picked up on your 360 for dating services and the like, and I'm wondering in the light of this how seriously I should take your question........?

Salam Alaykom wb,

Wow. I just learned alot from your question leading to many wonderful answers. I now know why the category of Religion has so many hateful people who instead of concentrating on the good are bashing others and especially Muslimeen. I find myself visiting that category to learn more, but instead find so much hate... that after reading afew answers... I leave without posting an answer. Now I know where all the normal people are.

I love reading about Islam and found myself not spending much time on Yahoo Answers because of the hateful people in that category. But shouldn't we all join together and go there and teach those people something and put them in their places? Many of them have personal insecurities and think they would feel better by taking down and bashing others.

Salaam Alaykum
Because the Religion and Spirituality section is nothing but
Friendly to Muslim's it is a breeding ground for hate and intolerance. For Example a man posted a question their once and I quote "How to bury Muslim's in Bacon." Another
person with a pig on the Avatar that said I am thinking about naming my pig Muhammad...I posted my answers about a lot of misconceptions about Islam. I and many other brothers and sisters here came for refuge from the slander and the hate. Especially from the athiests and Christians that over and over again refer to us as terrorists. Moon god worshipping pagans....and then a slew of hate when we gently try to explain as I have that Esa is a holy prophet Peace Be Unto Him...but even when we explain all our simialrities as a Monotheistic religion and our Nabi's are all the same especially the importance of Ibrahim and Musa Peace Be Unto Them. The Christians firmly hold on to their belief that Jesus is Lord and we are all going to hell for not accepting that as they see it. You would think people would have the courtesy and the wisdom to explore and have at least decent dialouge with some manners. I used to try and try many times thinking if I could just get one person to understand. They have firmly planted roots in their head we are a religion of hate and violence and are very vocal about expressing them in very hateful ways. Since there is no category for Islam itself people like myself couldn't handle it anymore. Some even sneak into this category. One woman said "How can I convert to Islam..after I just sanctified myself in satan's blood?" We can't have decent respectful questions and discussions on that forum so some chose Ramadan even it's over..others picked Egypt or Lebanon where is the only places I have seen Christians and Muslims alike respectful to each other. A few non Muslim's are in the circle of friends in Ramadan,Egypt, and Lebanon because they have Muslim friends in their network and are always nice and polite to us and definately at least respect our faith and gain knowledge in a non combative verbal environment. Some people still choose the R&S category and go back and forth
writing out verses from the bible to dispute the Quran and Muslims writing out verses to dispute that the Quran was and is the last revelation from Allah SWT and the true last prophet
Muhammad Peace Be Unto Him. They accused Muhammad PBUH of being a false prophet and a pedophile. If you have the gift of enduring these slanders and can make a difference
like I thought I could Masha Allah It never shook my Iman it just made me feel I was wasting my time and disgusted that humanity could be so evil in a place called religion and spirituality.
Wasalaam

it's a good idea sometimes
but most of the times a person sending a question on the general religion page will get rude or bad comments against islam or the prophet (pbuh)
i've tried it once then i even deleted my question from all the comments i got against islam
there all still good non muslims who answer in a good way but most of the time they can't answer coz it's specific to muslims
but don't you think they wouldn't even look in the question if they know they can't answer it
if a non muslim wanted to know about our religion they would come here and ask or try to answer or view questions right?

i think if the question is a type of question that non muslims can answer too then write it in the religion place
and one more thing the person asking about islam would want to get the most answers from a person that knows about islam so they would more likely to get more answers here

there are so many non muslims who post their questions regarding to islam here they can come here anytime and ask us
For me i prefer to write my question here to get the best answers not just anything
general religion area is for the general questions about religion

The only thing I can gather to answer this is that they are hiding from the others. When Al Mahdi comes will they run to mecca also to hide? There will only be 322 to stand next to him. Why do they not stand firm in along side the rest of the faiths. Is this not a format of prejudice and discrimination in a format that can create separation and segregation?
Maybe they are all shia? The word means to separate.

neptunes: we dont care. as a muslim women we are not abused, we are protected, respected and held in high stutas, our rights where given to us way before the western women got their so called rights. go read some history, and talk to muslim women to see if they complain.
muslim women do not need your pity, excuse us, this is our choice...and we have way more freedom than you'll ever give to your women.
so take a chill pill, and come up with another pathetic excuse. this women thing is getting old.

islam=peace: I dont really like the S/R section all they do is bash each other and anyone who doesn't agree with them. and every friggin question that is about Islam gets the teddy bear answer.
Its better here...you get the answers you are looking for without any unwanted answers.
