his client?

I ask because when asking questions of Christians sometimes you get bible quote thrown at you as apposed to documented facts.

And they present their beliefs to you as if it is etched in stone fact.
Obviously there is political problems with this......

Is this the kind of world or country evangelicals want to create?
Its as if they forgot somewhere along the line that it is a belief.

A belief of theirs and not of others.

Man's laws today came from the Bible. It is a way of life.
If you commit murder, will you not go to prison?
If you lie in court, is it not perjury?
If you steal, is it not a crime? You can go to jail if you are caught by man.

The higher court is GOD and His commandments. HE will judge everyone for their actions.
Why don't you actually read the Bible. Read the Ten Commandments very carefully and see how they correlate with the Law today. They are not that different.

Your question made me smile because I was once in court when a Roman Catholic lawyer whose client had just been acquitted went out declaiming: "blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." As the magistrates were all Jewish, they merely smiled politely.

I think that the reason for quoting Scripture in certain contexts on the R/S page is for the answerer to show the authority behind whatever point he is making. Similarly, when lawyers argue their case, they have to bring statute and case law to bear in order to substantiate their argument.

If they do, they'll first be warned, then removed from the court by judge's order if they persist in the USA.

You may have seen the hiding they took in Pennsylvania at the Kitzmiller vs. Dover federal trial when they couldn't justify trying to disguise religion as science.

As you see, the deliberately disingenuous falsely claim laws are biblically-based when our country was expressly NOT founded upon Christian principles (Article 11 of the Treay with Tripoli).

The Thomas Moore (Catholic Conservative) Law Center took the beating and slunk out of town.

If that was allowed in court, we would be dangerously close to being a theocracy if not one altogether.

This is one of the things I fear with the Christian right, is the one size fits all principle where they have no regard to individualism, that all must accept the word of God. That is as sickening as the Bin Ladens of the world.

It's been known to happen.

But guess what? I believe that every one called to the witness stand is asked to place their hand on the Bible and made to "swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth..." before stating their names.

At least that's what they still show in the movies today.

Peace be with you.

VILLAGER #1:
We have found a witch. May we burn her?
BEDEVERE:
There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
Tell me. What do you do with witches?
CROWD:
Burn! Burn them up! Burn!...
BEDEVERE:
And what do you burn apart from witches?
VILLAGER #2:
Wood!
BEDEVERE:
So, why do witches burn?
[pause]
VILLAGER #3:
B--... 'cause they're made of... wood?
BEDEVERE:
Good! Heh heh.
So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1:
Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEVERE:
Ah, but can you not also make bridges out of stone?
Does wood sink in water?
VILLAGER #2:
No, it floats! It floats!
BEDEVERE:
What also floats in water?
ARTHUR:
A duck!
BEDEVERE:
Exactly. So, logically...
VILLAGER #1:
If... she... weighs... the same as a duck,... she's made of wood.
BEDEVERE:
And therefore?
CROWD:
A witch! A witch!...
VILLAGER #4:
Here is a duck. Use this duck.
[quack quack quack]
BEDEVERE:
Very good. We shall use my largest scales.
