How do you assing buttons on a PS3 controller to use on a PC?

I recently bought Gears of War for my PC and would like to use my PS3 controller to play it. How do I assign buttons to be used on the PS3 controller. OR, how do I get it to work for Gears of War?

Since it's Gears of War I assume you're using Windows. I got my sixaxis working on my linux box, it took me a while... but the method should be the same for a windows box.

You'll need a driver (I found one for you in 5 seconds - see the link) then in-game you should find in the options or controls menu where you can select joystick or gamepad, you should be able to customize from there. Remember to hit the ps button or the pc won't know it's there.
