My daughter-in-law and I would like to contact my sons (her husbands) father, they've never met, My son was raised by another man, but is still curious about his biological parent and we believe my son would like to have a relationship with him. We do have his address, we're just not sure what to say when we contact him. He ( the bio parent) is married with two other children, both grown. He paid child support for my son, so the wife does know about my son. Any suggestions?

I have a suggestion, let your son do the contacting, be there with him if he wants for support, but let him call, he has a wife, he must be old enough to make this decision for himself. Give him the info, let him know that you are willing to support whatever decision he makes and help him if he wants your help, then let him make his decision and live by it.

I am not sure how old your son is, and that makes a difference. If he is young he may not be ready for rejection, and there is a chance he will be rejected. If he is an adult, this is something he should do himself. Plus think about the fact that if his father paid child support he had to have known how to get in touch all these years, if he had wanted to. Just be prepared for whatever happens.

I have a suggestion

If your son wants to meet his biological father, then he needs to pick up the phone and make the call himself...

If i were your son, i wouldn't bother. If i had a father who never cared to contact me, I'd let it go and move on. My son had a father like this, and although he's curious, he also realizes his father never made him part of his life ALL his life.
