ok, as embarrassing as it is..it is obviously real enough for me to reach out for some advice.
I have searched extensively on the internet..
I have consulted doctors, tried different medicines...
It is the strangest most embarrasing problem. To wake up at night and find yourself itching your anus. On your own is disturbing, next to your girlfriend, it's devestating.
It comes on sporadically but consistently.
I have read it is most prevalent at night and around bowel movements which has been true in my case.
I have pretty good will power. I never itch mosquito bites.
But it is quite unbearable.
An intense itch in your anus, that will make me squirm in a chair if it occurs at a random time. It is terrible..
i thought it must have been some crazy std. Even though I have not had any kind of anal activity.
It seems common enough when googled.
The one thing I haven't tried is to go on some master cleanse fast, and slowly reintroduce foods to see if it is something in my diet.
it's not worms

I used to have anal itch severely. I would even cry cause it would burn.I would stop hanging out with friends because of my itch. It was terrible. I searched all over the internet to find a solution & I ran Into my life saver! CORTIZONE!!! I would apply Cortizone cream every night & morning & in about 1 or 2 weeks it stoped! Now I am happier than before.

Product: Pranicure Ointment

I suffered for about 3 years from terrible anal itching and discomfort and tried about every available cream, plus seeing a dermatologist. I found only enough relief to make it just barely livable. It took only about 2-3 weeks to be completely healed with Pranicure Ointment. It's only available online. I'm down to a once every two-three day application. It has been a miracle product for me.

Preparation H puts out pre-moistened cleansing wipes which can be very helpful to reduce the episodes of itching. It's a problem I have too. The wipes are available at your local drugstore. If you have a Walgreen's near you then buy Walgreen's brand. It's the same as the Prep. H brand but it costs less.

Cured! Fibers from my cotton underwear caused my anal itching for 10 years. I finally realized this and switched to a polyester/spandex blend and it stopped after 1 day! Hope this helps others.

Could it be sweat? Try showing before bed.

If not, you could have candida - an overgrowth of yeast. Makes you itch like you're going insane. You can take pills for it, but they are really hard on your system (and permanently). Candida feeds on sugar. You'll need to change your diet to sugarless and cut out white food. It takes awhile to be completely cured of it, but it's worth it.

Do a websearch on Natural Cures for Candida

Ok so I am assuming you have read the internet quite frequently and read all the reports. My question back to you is your diet. Are you drinking lots of caffeine substances...coke, coffee? Are your stool movements frequently runny as a result of this? If your answer was yes to any of these...then you need to change your eating habits. Most likely you are eating the wrong types of foods...especially if you are in a fast paced service industry or work long hours. Hope this helps.

do you have constipation or slow bowel movement? that could be the problem. you don't really need a master cleanse. just eat more vegetables and fruit as these will increase bulk and make bowel mvt easier and gradually will decrease itch. eg: cooked cabbage (less gassy than raw), bananas, carrots, cooked broccoli, oranges ...

My advise is to go ask your doctor about this problem.

Second advise, perhaps try rubbing some Aloe Vera around your anus.

Third advise...Wipe better after you're done taking care of your business.
