This tends to happen when I watch sports or when I'm working on something and it doesn't go smoothly. My gf doesn't like me swearing and I want to stop, but it seems impossible to do.

I don't like it when people swear either.You're just going to have to use self control.It's not going to be instant,but if you keep at it eventually it will work.

How about this. Every time you swear, put 20 cents in a jar. After a year, give the money to your gf. It works!

Buy a non-flint cigarette lighter,and remove the ignition sparker.Attach it to a length of insulated copper wire braided into a ring,and have her zap you every time you swaer.
Or you could get a jar,and every time you curse you have to put a quarter in the jar.
Another way is,take responsibility for the fact that you are the one doing the cussing.If how it effects her matters to you ,you simply make a decision to stop doing it around her.
Try zen meditation.It involves you becoming aware of your actions and the reactions they cause.

My man watches AFL (Australian Football League) he swears like a trooper when we get little visitors, I send him into the spare room, Kids pick up swearing fast enough

Why would you want to stop swearing? It's a very healthy mechanism that helps you reduce stress and lowers blood pressure. Just let it out!

Try using other words to display your frustration. Like instead of saying s--t. you know things will get better so say sugar, or better call on your lord for help. Good kuck, your gf is right . Nice New Year's Gift for both of you. Happy Holidays

I was like that at first and I realized it was my environment my friends swear ed and therefore influencing me so maybe the ppl around you (with the exception of your gf) is swearing

think about a very scary man(like my coach) who hates swear words and act as if hes around all the time, now you wouldnt swear in front of him because hes very scary so just think about him rippin into you cause you swore that will make you stop
