I want to believe in God so badly but it seems so hard to believe. Eternal life seems more like a fairy-tale than truth. I have been morbidly depressed for the past few weeks thinking about oblivion. If God is really there why is he allowing me to suffer like this? I say the rosary and my prayers every night yet he's letting me suffer. If he really is there I want to dedicate my life to him and become a priest. Please tell me some convincing stories of acts of God in your life or give me words of advice. Thank you guys.

The truth is that God is with you always, but you are not doing his will 100%
If you read the bible, you will see that nowhere does it say that you should say the rosary each day. Unplug yourself from Catholic ritual and focus exclusively on what's in the NT.
Christ says that in order to please God & show him that we love him, we have to do his will which is three-fold:

1. We need to pray unceasingly (daily)
2. Remain in his word (read the NT daily)
3. Undergo sanctification (this is the most misunderstood part, so read widely on the subject)

Then...drop the rosary which is not biblical

1. Say the Lords prayer each night before bed &
2. Put a bible on your bedside table & read 3 - 5 ch of NT scripture b4 going to sleep each night. I will bet you any money you like that after a month of doing that, things will start improving. Good luck.
3. While you are doing the above, start to read books which challenge what you thought you knew about the Christian faith

Read Jessie-Penn Lewis "Secrets of Spiritual Warfare"
Shakuntala Modi "Remarkable Healings"

Eventually you are going to understand exactly what you need to do for no. 3 (Most Christians can't accept this aspect of God's will) GOOD LUCK!!!

You are having a problem in adjusting to the thought that when you die maybe there is nothing after all . Think of this science states that energy can neither be created or destroyed that gives a possibility of a afterlife on its own { soon enough you will know for sure don't worry about it } . Also you have immortality it comes from children it may not be you entirely but a small part goes on as long as the race does . So stop worrying about what you can't change and concentrate on making the world a better place for your descendants !

I know that God is real because i have been prayed over and healed of quite a few physical ailments, and almost all of my prayers have been answered. Did you think that if you sincerely wanted to serve God the devil would leave you alone? I am not a Catholic, I am a born again believer. Stop saying the rosary. Start talking to God. Read what the bible says. The rosary isn't in the bible. In fact Jesus condemns repetative prayers that aren't from God. Get to the source. Don't just listen to your church doctrine, read the book, ask God, with your whole heart. We all suffer who love God. The Bible tells us that if they hated Jesus they are going to hate us. God Bless you. I'll pray for you to know the truth.

You have to make a decision, either you believe or you don't, other people can't tell you what you believe.....if???? don't be an "if"

btw, yes He's real, and so is the devil.....the devil is putting the doubt in you.....rebuke the devil, do it now....and allow God in your life, accept a relationship with Him, put your faith in Him....He won't let you down...ever.

Several years ago I was reading my bible, I started just flipping pages and came upon a passage that had been marked, in my handwriting, I don't recall marking it, ever. The passage is 2 Peter 1:3-11

You want us to convince you to believe something you know in your heart, and in your mind isn't true?

Well I could name about 12, but I won't.

You need help with clinacle depression.

I asked for the same thing before, when I really wanted spiritual satanism to be true. I mean its so fastinating. and the history of it all. finally a religion that not only celbraions free thinking and skepticism, but has magick, and an entire alternate demision, the astral planes, that you can go to.

Of course I couldnt force myself to believe.

which is probally best.

I did find out the planes were real, and succeeded in visiting, but it dosnt give faith to spiritual satanism, because many none satanist claim to be able to go there too.

so the point is, any evidence you read pointing towards a god, is also pointing toward Krishna existing, Hercules existing, Odin existing, Enki existing, and a million other gods.

why not, at least find a religion that teaches spirituality, meditation, chakras, and all of the other fun aspects of buddism and other more peaceful religions.

I have battled depression on more than one occasion in my life. It's a hard thing to beat, believe me , I know!

There are some things that helped me. So here goes...

I came to understand that I needed to simplify my life in any way I could. So I organized the daily tasks that tend to stress me out...such as errands, mundane chores, paying bills, etc. Then I set aside 15 minutes everyday to talk to God. I know that doesn't sound like much but as a busy wife and mother it was all I had! This was my time to talk DIRECTLY to God and pour out all my fears and frustrations. Then I forced myself to walk away from all those problems and go on with the joys and trials of daily living...

With faith in a higher power....something greater than myself....I grew strong and came through the worst depression of my life!

When you have two small children hanging onto your skirt-tail, needing you to care for them, even though your depression is threatening to pull you under, you have to reach for a source greater than yourself for help. You can do that too! I hope this helps....Blessings!

I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict you that you are a sinner in need of Jesus Christ to purge you from all your sins and to give you the faith to confess from your heart Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior (John 16:8,9, Romans 10:17). After you have done this attend a Spirit-filled church and get yourself baptized in the Holy Spirit and have the gift of tongues (Acts 1:8, 2:4). Then pray in tongues regularly so that spirit of fear will be removed from you and you put on the spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:6,7). Do this and you will have the victory. God bless.

First. (not most important, but easiest) Take more "B" vitamins--- something like stress-tabs. A "B" vitamin deficiency will really blow you away.
Second. Is there any sin in your life that you are aware of that you are not dealing with in a constructive way? Sin separates us from the Almighty
Thirdly. Are you following Scripture? Not just cunningly devised fables? Many people can spin a good story, but only the Almighty YHVH offers salvation.

I want to fly by flapping my arms; it won't happen. You want to believe in a god because you think that it will make you feel good, and indeed it may; however, such a belief will not be founded on any sort of facts because there are no facts which indicate that any sort of god actually exists. Do not rely on faith: faith is the ultimate evil -- it is the deliberate rejection of the essence of one's humanity: the ability to reason and draw valid conclusions from evidence. Please read:
