I won't take it after this. I've been dealing with the pain all day, but I thought I might take it before bed to help me sleep, and now the pain is still here and I'm trying not to be sick.

:(

I have eaten before taking the pills, so it's not that.

I would go to the doctor, but considering it's now Christmas Eve, I might have some problems.

As for the throwing up part.... I am terrified of it! Right now especially since it was an oral procedure that I have the meds for. Throwing up would not be good.

You don't say what your taking? what?

Many people are allergic to Morphine and also, Codine. It makes them nauseous and upsets their stomach, usually it last about eight hours after taking it so....this may be your problem.
There are many types of pain meds out there, call your doctor and let him know. If you have to have Morphine or Codine you can get it in a suppository form.

I don't see a problem here, just an alternative action.

this has worked repeatedly for me [had a 4 story fall when 19,
broke leg when took daughter skating and a root canal without drugs.among others].
clear your mind then force it to focus on a extremely happy time/place or series of events remembering tastes smells sights feelings then notice the details of your surroundings until you are totaly immersed then [this is the hardest part]
stay there while you interact with your current life [the more often you try this the easier it becomes] pain pills and shots make me sick or stupid and i just wont tolerate their side effects
good luck i hope this will help you it has served me for many years

yes eating or drinking milk does help with being sick from the pain meds but you may not be able to take that type of pain med you may need to be on a different one considering everybodies system aint the same. i know i cant take darvocet for it makes me very sick but i can take the lorcets which they are both in the same family. so i would check about getting a different pain med

eat well before taking the med. if you continue to have problems, contact the doctor who prescribed it.
