Why is it that I have heard of many stories about demons, possesions, and ghosts in the christian religion terrorizing families and such, but I have never heard of such a thing happening in Buddhism, Shamenism (besides ghosts), and etc.

Actually a lot of such stories in Buddhism too. If you are really interested, search on web or try to get books on the peta (hungry ghosts) and asura (demons). Buddhism and belief in Samsara (life cycle) cannot be separated. When a creature dies, he/she will become another creature afterlife, either a brahma, or a diva or a divine, a human, an animal, a peta, or an asura, or a hell being. When he/she dies again, he/she will become something again afterlife. (you can search any of these words on web)

In Buddhist countries such as Burma, Thailand etc, generally people are superstitious deep into their traditions and beliefs. Apart from Buddhism, worshipping such creatures is also strong and influential even though Buddhism regards them as low creatures the peta (hungry ghost) and asura (demon). Actually, similar stories about possession and harmng are also common in Buddhist countries like other traditions such as Christianity, Islam, Taoism etc as well. So they, the Buddhist countries, also have shamanism apart from Buddhism and that is performed by Buddhist monks. In this case, you can ask the Thai and Burmese by visiting Thailand to know well about it – they can tell you stories, real or not, for hours.

When I was young, I have heard ‘boxing with demon’, ‘befriending hungry ghosts by offering food and drink’, ‘asking questions from them to know about the future of one’, ‘got married with female demon’ etc. Actually, all countries around the world, whatever they believe in, have similar stories.

This is extra for you. Stories about orbs and things like that are also common. One thing shared by the Thai and Burmese is that the witches are acting like light orbs at night that they take off by removing their heads and guts out of their bodies and leaving the rest of their bodies behind, flying around in search of food or to cause problem. The Burmese believe that some low witch eat human manure and the high ones eat the clouds. But the witches are human beings but having skills of witchcraft.

Here is something concerning Islam and the paranormal.
There is this particular sect - who practice the art of self-mutiliation, without harming themselves.
It is overseen by the religious leader who goes through a routine to ensure that the people do not harm themselves.
After which, they then proceed to pierce themselves with all manner or sharp instruments.
There was a documentary covering this, in which the American documentary maker, allowed himself to take part in the ritual. Not for the squeamish.

a demon offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in exchange for just one act of worship.

So if it's in the bible it must be important enough to tell you about.

Satan is in control of all the governments and kingdoms of the earth...he is misleading most of the people.

The bible is warning all of us not to get involved with demons.
