I recently got arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces and a drug paraphernalia ticket. I was riding around with 4 friends in my car and we got pulled over and it wasnt mine but we didnt say who's weed it was, so they arrested all of us. This is my first offense and I'm currently attending college and I was wondering what the most likely outcome will be. My lawyer said we're gonna try to get deferred adjudication, but I'm wondering what the likely probation term will be. I'm going to be going to virginia for college next year and so I'm hoping that it won't be for more than three months but I don't know. If anyone works in the Texas justice system I could really use some pointers...thanks in advance

If I were you I would RAT on the person who did own the weed. Don't take the fall for that idiot. You could get kicked out of school have the weed charge on your record and never get a good paying job.

Steven C is right RAT em out. First time offenses in Texas, in my experience, has been deferred adjudication, and maybe probation. But I wouldn't give up the rest of my life for someone else's weed. Gonna haunt you forever.......

if you get deffered adjudication then you don't have to go to a PO. You just have to pay a fine(court costs) and stay out of trouble in that jurisdiction for a given period of time. After that it goes away and doesn't go on your record.
