The world is so big and full of so many different things, people, and experiences.

Yet, you only have a miserably short lifetime to absorb everything you can. And the things you do absorb... it's not even a fraction compared to the whole.

It's almost as if your in this dark gloomy cave and suddenly someone flashes a bright light so you can savor a few precious moments of light and see your surroundings. Then as suddenly as it came, the light goes out, leaving you in the darkness once more.

Could not have said it better myself

Read books, they help you experience lives of other people.

But depending on your religion, this life is just a drop in the ocean compared to the after life, heaven or hell.......death is just a transition....

this life is like a hotel room and the next life is like your home

but that's only if you believe in such a religion

Wow. Ok, here goes. And remember I have no reason to lie to you because as harsh as it sounds I don't know you and whatever you do has no effect on my life. I'm going to sound stuck up here but I don't care. I would be considered by most to be a very attractive woman. I have absolutely dated men who would not be considered attractive. I have also dated men who did not have a lot of confidence, who were shy, who were uncomfortable around me etc. Call it cheesy or whatever you want, I have chosen possible long term partners based on qualities I find to be more important, like kindness, sense of humor, ambition, etc. That being said. this was NOT the case when I was younger. When I was in my teens and very early twenties I was very shallow. So was pretty much every other girl I knew, and probably most of the guys I knew as well. This might be why you yourself are shallow. When people get older and it's that time in their lives when every boyfriend is a potential husband, priorities change. I'm speaking for myself and pretty much every other woman I know personally. Are you fun? Are you funny? Do you think you would treat a woman right? Are you romantic? Are you respectful? Are you kind? If you are most or all of those things, or think you could be, yes I think you can find someone. Also, as you move into your 20's there seems to be a lot more single women than men out there, at least in my experience, so that is always going to be in your favor. A lot of women are LOOKING for real relationships and love. To sum it up, no I won't tell you a bunch of crap about soul mates. You said you never had a girlfriend so here's some advice that you probably don't know. When you get to know someone, and like them, they become a whole lot more attractive to you. So those women you won't date based on looks, give them a chance. I have had 2 relationships start from friendships where after getting to know them I saw them psychically in a different light. If something hasn't worked for you in the past doesn't mean it won't work for you in the future. Build a little confidence. If you aren't afraid of dying I'm sure you aren't afraid of rejection. It really would be a shame to live your life and miss out on love. As someone who has battled depression let me tell you it changes everything. And yes, love is out there free for the taking for EVERYONE.

Back In Genesis, God shortened our days from several hundred years to 120 years max. Before the "fall" of man and Satan with his angels, we were eternal beings. After the fall, we were appointed to die for eating the forbidden fruit. So, following what the Bible says, we then go back to God after our deaths and exist in a spiritual form or we go somewhere else and exist in a spiritual form...maybe hell. So, we are not missing out on anything. In fact, we will be able to experience much more after death because we will not be confined to our physical bodies and will have eternity to see everything. This is all based upon a Christian standpoint. Some people believe in reincarnation and they think that they come back for multiple lifetimes to experience more things.

Yes, I agree. Come to think about it. We take 1/4 of our life to learn the skills to make a living, another 1/4 to retire, and for the rest of our life, we spend 2/3 of the time sleeping or doing useless things. Life is short indeed.

Life lasts far, far too long.

When you're suicidal, literally every single breath feels like a struggle, like you can't bear the thought of being alive another minute... let alone another day or years ahead.

When you wish you were dead but feel the obligation to live long and die naturally, you'll feel like the time from now till the day you die feels almost like an eternity. Miserably short? I wish.

Life is not short. Since it is only in life you have time, it is too long. There is no time other than life because time and space are part of the creation and will be lost when the world is lost.

Life isn't short; it's actually the longest thing you'll ever get to do with your life! Lol.

Actually, compared to some species, it's not.

There are insects that live their lives for less than a second; to them, that's a lifetime.

We have quite a bit more than that.

Just be thankful for the time you do have, and make the best of it. Tomorrow's never guaranteed.

This life is indeed short, when you compare it to eternity, but I believe we are eternal beings. This life is merely a preparation for the next, which is going to be very long.

Eh...humans have pretty long lifespans.

You have to learn to be happy with what you have, or you'll never be satisfied.

Everything in life is "unsatisfactory" when you get right down to it, so quantity of experiences arn't really what make up life, but rather, how much you appreciate every second you have, no matter what you're doing with it.
