Grandmas are set in their ways. I gave up trying to argue with mine years ago. I have certain rules and things I follow with my children, but when it comes to my grandma there is no convincing her otherwise. If your Grandma is rocking the baby to sleep once in a while it won't disrupt the schedule his or her parents have it on. If it's becoming a daily thing then it could disrupt it. In which case you'll have to stop bringing the baby around her. As for the myths just let your Grandma tell you them it won't hurt anyone and it makes her happy. Just nod and smile if you have to. You are going to have to learn to push your grandma's comments to the side. Like I said they are set in their ways. So humor her act like you're listening, but let it slide it's not a battle worth fighting.

apparently, your grandmother gets joy from rocking a baby... perhaps let her rock the baby, because it makes her happy
old people sometimes believe old world customs and "myths"... someday you might have an interesting story for someone from all she knows...? or even a speech in class at school, etc.
not everyone has a grandmother who tells mexican myths. she's not trying to bother or annoy you...she's just being your grandma.
take care.

She is set in her ways. You cannot change her. And her ways aren't that bad. One day you will see that.
And if you don't like the way she helps you, you can quit trying to pawn off your responsibilities on her and stay at the home of the people you are sitting for and then you do not have to worry about her doing it her way.

Treasure her advice and the time you have with her even if it isn't what you want now. She was a mother once and she wouldn't do something that will hurt the baby.

Why do you have to go to your grandmothers? You did not mention why? You could just not go visit her when you babysit. Just tell her that you will not be able to visit her while you babysit if she can not learn to respect your wishes.

Stop going to your grandmother's. You're not getting paid to go to your grandmother's house you are getting paid to take care of this child...do your job.

gnandmothers are older and wiser. she's just trying to pass on her wisdom to you. one day she won't be there and you will wish for her advice. enjoy it while you can. if it bothers you so much don't go to your grandmothers house while babysitting.
