What do you think of these qualities in a wife?

"feminine / wifely" qualities...

1. Virtue - virtue means to be clean and pure.
2. Loyal - a feminine woman is loyal to her husband.
3. Kindness - in word and in action.
4. Submission - "submission" means "to be subordinate to, to yield under to".
5. Reverence - she is in awe of her husband. she respects him with fear.
6. Shamefaced - she has the ability to blush. Her eyes are down cast.
7. Loves her husband there is a fondness in her heart toward her husband. she gives her life for him.
8. Chaste - she is sexually pure. She keeps herself for her husband and only unto him when married. she does not commit adultery.
9. Obedience - she is obedient to her husband. her desire is unto him. he is the head of the family . she allows him to lead.
10. Subjection - she is subject to her own husband.
11. Desire - feminine women have a desire toward their husbands. he is the hidden man of her heart. her desire is unto him.
12. Beauty - inner and outer beauty.

You might consider, though, that everyone is different. A woman that is "perfect for" one man, may be the worst match possible for another.

Everyone has their needs and wants. You simply have to find a balance.

Now what most people here dont know and pretend to know is that the woman has these qualities yet is an equal. Of course they believe the Taliban and Alqueda types make up all of Islam. lol

In all reality the woman calls the shots around the home.
she knows what is needed and what isnt.
Of course there are jerks in any society and america has more than its fare share as well.

those qualities dont mean the woman follows her husband around like a lost puppy dog. On the contrary.
Its just a matter of respect for him and he in return will do anything to keep a woman like that happy.
He knows he will not have to go to work or travel for business and worry that his wife will cheat.

They avoid anything that will lead to gossip in the relationship. How is that so bad??
The divorce rate in Islamic society is very low.

And the woman need NO reason to divorce. She can simply be unhappy.
The husband on the other hand has a hard go of it.
Yes the wife submits to and is subordinate to her husband.
But to the simple western mind that means she is his employee.

To all the simple sok tau westerners Submission to your husband isnt about s&m. LOL

I think most of these are very old-fashioned, irrelevant to modern life, and just another way for religion to keep women down.

You are only going to find that type of women in a fantasy world. Besides, wouldn't #12 make number's 1 to 11 redundant? Afterall, inner beauty would include all those things. As long as she is physically attractive and is a great person on the inside, then I would be happy with her.

It sounds like this woman doesn't have much spunk. If there was ever a perfect woman, the one embodying all these qualities might be her!

Even so, I strongly disagree with submission, being shamefaced, and subjection. A woman doesn't have to be subservient to her husband. I believe in equality between the sexes, so why can't a woman wear the pants in the family? And perhaps a woman should be humble, but she doesn't have to be completely spineless, or shamefaced as you say. She should have spirit!

It sounds like the perfect wife for a controlling jerk or man from about 200 plus years ago. A husband and wife are a team, playing equal parts. This list sounds like came from a long time ago and should go back. You wouldn't want a guy who was following this list, because he doesn't want a wife to love and respect, he wants a slave to control.

You are confusing loyalty and Desire with femininity. A dog can be loyal and a woman can be feminine without being loyal. A woman, who may not portray feminine traits can have desire for her husband.

#2 should be "a wife is loyal to her husband.
#11 should be Wives have desire only for their husbands...forsaking all others and cleaving only unto him.

i went back and read other people's answers and wasn't surprised at them. you got a lot of bad ones and a few good ones. although jojo's really touched me and i think he should get best answer.

As a woman, I wish I possessed all of these. They are godly qualities that are hard to fulfill, especially in the days we live in. Sometimes I feel like I missed out because I read these historical Christian novels dated in the 1800's and so much of women's bodies were only seen by their husbands which made it all so very special. Now, men see everything everywhere and most of us bare more than we should. This is just speaking about the outer, but I just thought I'd bring it up because our world is so messed up. I can't believe how much TV and such messed up my perception of sex and beauty.

(Coming from a female perspective)

I think those are nice qualities for a woman to have as a wife, but I've got a problem with 4,5,6,9, and 10. Women should be equal to men in a household and they shouldn't be a pushover like that. She shouldn't be controlled by her husband and just submit to whatever he wants. And she shouldn't respect her husband out of FEAR; she should respect him out of love.
