I think this is it.

The gods out right now are the last ones, and they are slowly dying.

After all, religions used to be polytheistic, and Jews/Christians/Islam got rid of all but one god.

Atheism just subtracts one more.

We're almost there, another 100-200 years I'm guessing.

I had to dispense with those old-fashioned godheads for playing havoc with my electrics. I now have modern single pole-double throw switches and this allows for broader usage.

They should all lean to the all consciousness which we call god. This consciousness is everywhere, in the planets, the sun, the people, the animals. Every inch of being is here and alive because of us and the rest, the all consciousness.

In my case, it took quite a few. But it was the one that was not mythological, My Steve, who effectively made me an atheist when he committed suicide. Nietzsche was right: God is dead; he shot himself.
