I will be frank but do not mean to offend anyone. If any Christian tries to shove doctrine down your throat, it is not because of their Christianity, but because of that person’s character. Also be wary, there is a thin line between Christian and non-Christian. I believe that being a Christian is absolute in doctrine and should not detour from the Hebrew Bible and true translations like: King James Version (KJV), New International Version (NIV), New Living Translation (NIT), and more @ www.biblegateway.com.

Mormons detour from the bible…

Jehovah’s witnesses detour from the bible….

Catholics add new doctrines to the bible….

Jewish doctrine omits the New Testament of Jesus Christ… (However, there are Jewish people who are Christian)

There are other religions that mention Christ but detour from the bible… Some of these religious traditions are so strict that it shields you from your own holy spiritual enlightenment.

The different religions cause confusion amongst others and steer people away from Christianity due to the aggressive behavior of some people in those congregations. There are also aggressive Christians and I do not condone any Christian shoving anything down anyone’s throat. I just believe that it is rarer than it seems. In this day and age, it is difficult to know the different religious origins because they mention Christ in different contexts.

Christians believe that telling you about Jesus Christ’s sacrifice could eventually save your life and eternal life. All they want you to do is believe the rest is up to you. Jesus is Gods Firewall, and he is the one that will press "Allow" or "Deny." Life is short, but eternity is infinite; live them both to the fullest. Seek the truth and you will find it. Telling someone is an act of goodwill and a kind heart.

I am Christian and I approve this message :)
Merry Christmas.

I'll end with a few "must not be Christian" parody of Red Neck Jokes that may or maynot be funny but subliminally answers some of the post here.

If you got kicked out of church – they must not be Christian (as in the Church)

If anyone shoved Communion bread down your throat – they must not be Christian

If you blessed the food in Jesus name and the guest do not eat – they must not be Christian

If they knock on your door daily in an annoying manner – they must not be Christian

If you were not allowed in church because of your sexual orientation – they must not be Christian

If you caught someone breaking one of the laws of Moses – they must be Human

Forgive me for my long rant. If you made it this far; I commend you.
.....
God Bless you and God Bless America in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

I can provide several.

In 7th grade, little Karen decided that I needed to be saved and made it her mission to convert me to Xianity. She tried every tactic she could think of for 2 months before I finally had enough and had a talk with her. I told her that if she wanted to pray for me, she could do so to her heart's content but all this forcing me to see things her way wasn't making me see the light. She relented. Funny thing is, I ran into her years later and she had become an agnostic. She admitted that it was me that made her question her beliefs.

Back in '99 I was working part time as a waiter and one evening I let it be known that I was an atheist. Considering that the majority of people there were Italian it didn't go over very well and another girl made it her mission to change my mind. We debated the point for a good two hours until I had backed her into a philosophical corner and told her that her viewpoint made no sense. She walked away dazed as if her eyes had been opened for the very first time. She must have spoken to her priest because the next week she was fine, but she always avoided me from that point on.

Then there are the Jehova's Witnesses that would come by and try to get me to "hear the good word". The Mormons that would do the same. The people from the Worldwide Church of Gawd that showed up on campus during frosh week and during exam times and wanted me to come to their "study group". And the guy on the street corner that is constantly preaching the gospel and telling me I'm going to hell unless I repent of my wicked ways and accept Jeebus as my lord and saviour.

Do any of those qualify?

I'm Christian and I've had several other Christians shove their beliefs down my throat.

For example, I got into a discussion about Baptism with another Christian. We have different views, and she basically told me that if I didn't take her point of view that I was going to burn in Hell.

However, I've had several other people of various beliefs shove their beliefs down my throat also. Every "group" has those type of people who like to make you choke on their theology. .or a lack of one.

The important thing to remember is that when you want to know more about beliefs that are not of your own, is that you talk to those people who respect, tolerate, and try to understand your beliefs.

How don't they? What do Christians do that is part of their religion but not actively trying to get someone else to believe it? If you had to put it in percentages... the vast majority of their time "practicing" their religion is spent "shoving it down" someone else's throat.

But if you want a specific example. I don't have health insurance. Do you want to know why? Because Christians won't "allow" me to get married. If I had different genitals I could marry my partner and be covered by their insurance. But because Christians feel the need to tell others what they can and cannot do, I have no health insurance.
So let me repeat...if not for Christians shoving their beliefs that homosexuality is "wrong" down the throats of lawmakers...I would have health insurance.

Not to mention, the right to marry the person I love. The consenting adult I share a monogamous , loving relationship with.

This is just 1 example ...just 1. But you know what. I think it's a pretty big one.

"Shoving down throats" is a matter of opinion. I think everyone has the ability to choose your own attitude. You choose to let something bother you. Take a personal stance and tell yourself you will not let anything bother you and choose to not let it.
The world would be a happier place if we had more control over our own emotions.

The woman who was running a nursing home where I worked used to take great pains to fuss over the christian residents, and ignore the others. She always tried to employ her christian friends, and then spent hours in her office, praying with them, while I did all her work. Then I tore my shoulder, and she sacked me while I was on compo. She also sacked another nurse, and then had the nerve to turn up at her funeral last week. She noticed me as we were leaving the church, and snuck out the side door. I would have certainly have had words with her for being the biggest hippocrit on earth.

When I had my second child, one of the nurses on the maternity floor that was assigned to my room badgered me for being such a young mother. She went on and on about how her daughter who was my age was away having fun in college, and that I should be doing the same thing as opposed to having children, and started in on me about God's plan.

I am an astute and successful young woman, and found what she said to be quite offensive. I don't know that I've ever put someone in their place so quickly by letting her know that I believed my daughter was part of "God's plan" for me, and asked her if she was indeed God's chosen one to spread his word, why was she a nurse? I then proceeded to have her reviewed by the hospital board, where she was promptly transferred to a "less sensitive" area for her.

I respect all creatures and every humans right to live as they choose, as long as they are not hurting others. The nerve of some people.....

Well, I guess if they didnt, we wouldnt have a weekend would we. Due to Jewish Beliefs, Saturday wasnt a workday, and due to "christian" beliefs, Sunday wasnt a workday. Back in the early 20th century and before, common ordinary people worked 7 days a week, and died fairly young.

When they shout JESUS LOVES YOU and JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY and YOU WILL BURN IN HELL FOREVER UNLESS YOU ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR SOMETHING and EVERYONE ELSE'S BELIEVES SUCK EXCEPT FOR OURS.

Quote a bible verse every sentence, or word they say.

I.E. - I hate that guy! (Christian comes outta no where with a bible in hand and says "Acts 0:222229 - JESUS LOVETH NOT THY HATAHZ".

Never had a bible shoved down my throat though, the pastor at this church that my aunt got kicked out of wouldn't even give me a bible when I acted like I was interested in Christianity.

I'm bored, I'm sure everyone can tell.
