I have several ideas that could be turned into movies or books. I would like to hear suggestions on what the next step should be. I could go the route of having a script put together or should i focus
on a book instead ?

Have you ever written either a book or screenplay before? If not, you have a big job ahead of you. Why don't you just write out the story in about four pages or so and then think about whether it could be told in pictures or whether you'd have to 'hear' the inner consciousness of the character(s). It it's the latter, it should probably be a book. But I'd say write a book anyway since it is much easier than writing a screenplay.

I write allot of scripts and I can tell you that it isn't easy. If you have a natural knack for creating believable dialog than it shouldn't be a problem. It's strange to me that you’re torn between writing scripts and writing books... seeing that they are so different. In my experience, some people are good at writing scripts and some people are good at writing books, rarely is someone naturally good at both.

My suggestion is test out DO both.. Try writing a book, or short story and see how you feel about it. Ask yourself the following:

Does the ideas seem to exit the realm of your mind and translate well in book form?

Is it easy for you to write in this form, or do you see it as something of a nuisance?

Is there continuity issues? does the story lose the audieance?

If writing a book isn't working well for you, try a script. Ask yourself the following questions:

Is my dialog natural?

Are my characters well rounded and interesting?

Is my story easy to follow?

Have I given the audience a reason to care about the protagonist?

Most of these questions can be asked for either a book or script. I hope this helped you in your decision! Good Luck!
