Oh good idea. A "SP" rating to warn us that something like "ID" might be presented as reasonable.

Perhaps, bu that would mean they'd *all* be labeled "NX" (not for Christians)!
As Christians come in a wide variety of tastes and preferences, it's hard to know what your question means. For instance, I am generally offended when movies have characters drop the F-bomb all the time. But some movies (like "Rainman" with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise) if which that word is rattled off like there's no tomorrow are not offensive to me. That's because the language fits the character, and was not just used to give 12-year-olds a thrill.
I'm a big fan of movie review sites like www.screenit.com. They actually list out various kinds of offensive behavior (drugs, guns, sex and nudity, language) and let you make your own decision about whether you (or your kids) would be OK with the movie.

I think so. Very few of the Hollywoodistas would admit it, but an excessive dose of Christianity can be fatal to certain people. I get an allergic reaction whenever I come on here, but luckily I'm building up an immunity...Unfortunately, kids might not be so lucky. God only knows how many kids went into shock after watching the first Narnia movie. To say nothing of the kids that just simply exploded while watching the Passion of the Gibson.

Uh, no. Intelligent Christians should be reading reviews, the books the movies are based on, and actually evaluating for themselves.
Decades ago Franco Zeffarelli created the TV mini-series "Jesus of Nazareth." There were rumours flying around about how horrible it was going to be, demeaning Jesus, etc. It turned out to be one of the greatest movies/series ever done about Jesus. Everyone who was protesting it had to eat lots of crow.
I like to read reviews by Sr. Rose Pacatte. She's a very intelligent woman who teaches media studies.

They'll be rated "C" for Christian and "FC" for Fundamentalist Christian. I guess it might be good to know before you plunk down money to see it, but then again, since there's about a million different reviews of any given film that's released widely, I'm sure the information on its content can be ascertained elsewhere.

I just wait for the movie to come out and within a couple days you hear things like "church outraged at movie" and that's when i decide that it's a great movie. That line of thinking has never failed me.
