Are you as annoyed as I am with that ridiculous GAP ad that keeps popping up on the left side of the screen tonight!

I'm trying to listen to something else at the same time, but I get talk coming from that ad. I wish they would turn if off...!

Thanks Y!A!

bad tim: Good, quick solution, but I think they may have read your answer and will put the GAP ad on the Canada page just to annoy you too! :)

ykphil: I can't answer that! I don't know what's wrong with you because I don't know you... :) However, perhaps if you clicked on the US flag below you can see it, but you are currently at an advantage that you DON'T see it! :)

Paul B: If you push the pause button too early, it takes you to the linked website, a trick no less cheesy than the ad!

There is a disturbing trend toward superimposing everything from Simpsons movie animations to news blurbs across the screen during shows. This IN ADDITION to all the freakin' commercials (30 to 50% per hour) ! I'm about ready to give up totally on network crap.

PBS is no help either, with 2-3 weeks of pledge drive crap programming out of every 3 mos of normal programming. If I see one more John Denver (and I always LIKED him!) special, octogenarian doo-wopper or ancient pop icon with his beltline above his navel and a voice that can't hold a note, I'm gonna puke!

My TV is fritzing - think I'll just let it die and go out more!

The only thing that sucks worse than that retarded ad is the store it's advertising. The moron who thought this was a good idea and probably paid millions for the right to force it on us must have a gap the size of the Grand Canyon between his ears.

I know! I have my computer hooked up to some speakers and its screwing with the music that I'm trying to listen to. Also it has a habit of coming up on like 10 pages in a row, and once you manage to pause it (not an easy feat after it opens the actual advert in a new window), it starts to play again after 15 seconds. HELP!! I feel you pain :(

Push the pause button in the ad. Of course, you'll have to do that every time you refresh the page.

Personally I've just turned my computer sound down and thrown a CD on the stereo.

yes very annoyed . can't say how many times I've had to shut that cursed thing off ... commercialism at it's worst. Glad you made a point of asking I had considered myself but didn't get around to it as I too busy turning off the gap ad.

Am I the only one in this world who cannot see that ad?

What's wrong with me?

Edit: I guess Firefox prevented me to share this universal experience with all of you....but I tried IE...It works!!!! I"m no longer a lonely soul, I now belong to "a" group...

Just mute the sound on your computer.

I know--it took me about fifteen minutes to realize that this was all I had to do. I haven't noticed it since.

Edit: Oh, well, if you're trying to listen to something else...can't you go into "Tools" and "Internet Options" and go to the "Advanced" tab and tell it not not to play sound in web pages? That would be in IE...give it a try.

Edit: Nevermind, that doesn't work...

Nope. I use Firefox with an Ad-blocking extension (called Adblock).. so no Yahoo ad money from my end.

Yay.

If you want to download Adblock you can download it here for free http://bit.ly/1xTBTkC
It's the best software of its kind.
Hope it helps.
