I have Orginal Copy of Windows 98 but the serial i have it wont Work , i get erorr serial , i bouhgt this copy from ebay befor 6 moths and just now got chace to try install it . but the serail came with the Cd is wrong . i was wonder if there any way i can recover it from the Cd

IT is not a serial number, it is a Product Key.

AND it is NOT on the CD.

I know this is hard to understand but microsoft does not put the product keys on individual CD's. The software on the cd only checks to see if the product key is in the correct format when you type it in. With XP and Vista the product key is used for activation.

Serial numbers are not located in the CD so it would be impossible to recover it from there. Complain to the seller that the key does not work.

They are not stored on CD, they come with the paperwork only or on the casing.
