Why in the heII would you need a permit to keep a gun in your home? You dont need a permit for a gun or a sword to be kept in your home, thats silly
If you want to own a sword for protection.. then that one you see in the magazine for $75 isnt going to cut it. A REAL SWORD will cost you no less than $500 bucks. You get what you pay for, you want a full tang sword if you are actually planning on using it.

Its an interesting subject, I think you would need a licence but if it is a samurai sword, it has been banned under new legislation from the government. However, Antique swords put on display by collectors is Legal so you'll have to contact your nearest council for more information on the laws and getting a licence. Hope this helped

No, you don't need a permit. My Step-Son has several of these things in his collection. By the way, there is a difference between a real sword and those fantasy and "reproduction" pieces of cheap metal you find in the pawn shops.

Where do you live? Since when are permits required to own a gun? If you are in America no permits for swords, or handguns or shotguns.

Odd you should ask. Thank you. I know the two SCA
members who were walking through Central Park at night
in New York City dressed as Knights en-route to their monthly Shire Meeting & halted a rape in-progress using their 48 inch long steel blades; hit with flat side is all but bloddy murder. That blade edge easily can seperate head from body with middling effort. I keep a SCA mace in my house & was told by my blacksmith that if it ever breaks in plate mail suit combat the weapon will be repaired free of charge. It would easily break bones in one hard swing; all without the worry of accidental downrange hits that firearms project.
Oh, yeah, I keep firearms too.

YES, no permit necessary. If you are a convicted felon check with your probation officer. If you're off probation, go back to the first word.

Pertfectly legal to own in the U.S except in New York City and a few places in California where they are illegal under state law. Just don't try carrying one out on the street.........

Hi,
depends on the state and local laws where u live. It is legal here in australia to hang them on your wall. However, if you took one off the wall to threaten a church basher that knocks on your front door u could b in all sorts of trouble
It is not legal to carry them on you.
