how can i get a sense of hygenine and organization in her? help her set up a schedule? like.. shower every morning, put dirty socks and underwear in a special place? we live together and this has got to stop.

Your ages would be good to know.. and what your parents say too...

If she's an adult, it will be hard to change her habits unless she really wants to change them. You could plan some "special time" together doing "girly" things - go to a spa, get your nails done, (both focus on appearance/hygiene) redecorate your room together (talk about organization and how to make sharing space work)

If you are young teens, have our mom talk with her about 'the facts of life" - showering every now and then, keeping track of things.

Does she have ADD? A friend of mine has always taken care of her older sister because her sister is has ADD. Without reminding, she would forget to take her medicine, wouldn't remember to find clothes that matched and were clean, would forget to pack socks or pants or something when they went on vacation, and on and on.

Good luck!

I really hope you get an answer for this. My daughter has a friend that is the same way. She stays here and I have to force her to take a shower, she is bigger and sweats alot, but would rather go to school like that.
And clothes everywhere it's disgusting sometimes.
I'll watch for the answer too.

you cant force her to do this but you could explain that her actions are starting to get you down. Just be nice about it however, if nice does not work then you may need to be a bit forceful with her.

How old is she as well, if shes a teen then lots of teens are like that, or maybe she just does not have much respect for her self or is depressed, try taking her out and getting her to do things, or get her a boyfriend lol just basically get her thinking about keeping herself and her place clean

with the shower thing: tell her that she stinks and that its not healthy not to shower daily
get like a planner type thing and write in it a to do list and break it down into morning afternoon evening
and give her a highlighter so she can check out the things she did already

First: Have you talked to her about it? Maybe she doesn't realize that it bothers you.

Second: Give her a taste of her own medicine, x5. Leave unappealing things like underwear and food in places like her bed, etc. When/If she complains, tell her the way you feel. If she doesn't, escalate. Make it worse. Make her beg. Grr, I like this question.

Find out who she likes, invite them over, and let her know before he shows up that he's coming.

She may or may not bathe at that point, but be sure the boy notices the mess... His opinion of her will be more important than anyone else's.

Good luck.

She must be really immature. Hopefully she will change. Tell her you are going to find someone else to share space with if she doesn't quit being a pig.

How old is she?

Sounds like depression, if you two are about the same age and came from the same mom & dad.

you can't force her to do anything ,but you can talk to her about the suggestions you just listed. question is, is she older? or is she still a kid?
