do gay people get to put a token gay person in every new movie that comes out? Why is this agenda being shoved down our throat? Please answer the question without calling me a bigot and a racist, thank you. It is a valid question. I have noticed every single new release I rent there is a gay couple in it every time. wouldn't gay people scream if they found an article in their gay magazine suggesting that maybe they are in sin? Isn't agenda agenda?

OH so I'm not allowed to point out this hypocrisy from Gays who are always saying how intolerant we are? I think they are intolerant of anything they haven't invaded with their beliefs yet.

GREAT QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im sick of it as well! I personally believe that homosexuality is either a fad or a mental illness. There is no evidence that states an animal is naturally attracted to the same sex! That lil bit of propaganda has been hurled out more times than I can count. You see, Hollywood is ate up with the "live as you wish" attitude. There are millions more gay people in CA. than anywhere else. I guess its an agenda and the area.

Honestly, the only movies I can think of that have homosexuality played into it is....

-The Simpsons Movie (the two second scene which Marge thinks she's going to get taken away by the police, but they end up going into the shadows and make out and then tumble off-screen, a VERY short bit.)

-Scary Movie 1, and 2 (The one character who's [I'm kinda sure] in the closet.)

-Brokeback Mountain- Trust me, you are BLIND if you didn't the gay content coming at you with a baseball bat.

Do you want me to list all the movies that show straight people having sex?

I think there is difference between wanting to be portrayed in a postive light, and wanting to blatantly condemn someone for something they cannot control. Although I can sympathize with people who think that it is to pervasive, or that it might influence kids by idealizing homosexuality, the real motive behind why they have these positive portrayals is to make it so that people who are already gay can at least feel comfortable enough about themselves to realize that they are not monsters hated by all of the world. I think that is a good enough of a goal.

Homosexuality has been swept under the rug for a long time now. It only makes sense for it to finally take surface in a more accepting era...and I see no reason for forbidding the depiction of homosexuals, in that they are as representative of reality as anyone else.

I must have missed those gay couples, or obviously gay people in the last set of movies I saw.

Let's see, maybe one of the vampires in "I Am Legend" was a homosexual but it was very understated.

But there's no way to sugar coat this one, you're a bigot. Homosexuals exist in real life, just like people that are a different race and have a different belief than you do. Or are you complaining about them being in movies as well?

If every movie you see has a gay couple in it, I'm pretty sure you're looking for movies with gay themes. I can't think of the last movie I saw that had a gay person in it. let's see...

Sweeney Todd..no
I Am Legend...no
Golden Compass...no
Transformers...no
American Gangster...no...

BTW, you're still posting in the wrong section.

Edit: Got it! Stardust! Back in about August. That had a gay person in it, or at least a cross dresser. In five months I've seen at least one. Oh, the horror. And in the time period we've probably seen 15-20 movies.

Trying again. I am 58 years old. When I was young you rarely saw a black person on t.v. or in the movies. Same with the hispanics, and the asian. It is a matter of what is changing in society, but the truth is, those people were THERE, and I thank God times have changed. The world is not all white, and the gay people are there. They are not invisible. You have the right to choose what you watch, and everyone in this country is blessed with the freedom this country offers. I don't believe morality can be regulated, and just like it didn't work with prohibition, you can't exclude any group. You have the obligation to teach your children what you believe is right, but everyone has the right to their own beliefs. Thank God for the freedom in this country. Just choose, wisely. God Bless you, and remember, God has a purpose for each and every one of us. We are ALL his creations.

Yes, your question is a valid one. I think we have all gotten so used to seeing this on TV and in movies that most of us just don't "see" it anymore! And maybe that is the goal...I don't know.

But to answer your question, I think it's about money. It is just a tool used to reach a certain demographic in the media. In the world today, sex sells! (Sad but true.)

As for myself, I can't discard a truly good piece of film or a book because one or more of the characters is gay. I love literature and good films so I enjoy them even though there are some things in them I may not believe in.

I always used to watch videos first...then allow my children to see them. Especially if I thought there might be something in them I wouldn't want them to see. Maybe you could do that?

Follow your beliefs and your heart...but always remember, Jesus loves everyone regardless of their sexual orientation.... Blessings!

Can you name one, just one movie that came out recently with a gay couple in it? There are gay people in real life, so of course they'll be in the movies. Showing them isn't "shoving it down our throat", it's being realistic.

And I'm sorry, but you are a bigot. There's no getting around that.

Sorry, I guess my reply wasn't really answering your question.
The only answer I have is this; we live in a country that is turning their back on God. When this happens, all these sinful practices are accepted much easier. We are living in the last days and this kind of stuff is going to get worse whether we like it or not. I don't understand why we always have to have a gay friend or a gay couple, but that is what Hollywood wants because they want it out there that no matter what you do, if it feels good to you, it's OK. Believe me, I know. In my Youth group I have a girl that is a lesbian (unbeliever) and a boy who thinks he is gay. I also have another kid whose dad just left his family for a man. The US not ranks up there with Sodom and the Roman Empire. If things don't change we are ready for a big fall. I doubt there is anything we can do about this because we will be considered haters.

Is putting Asian people in movies somehow forcing some pro-Asia agenda? I wouldn't think so. Token characters are put in movies to add humor, or force the plot along. If you don't want to accept the reality that gay people exist and have become a part of popular culture, then don't indulge in movies, as they are designed to reflect popular culture.

You CHOSE to go to the movie or watch the TV show!

Nothing's being "shoved down your throat". Stay home and read the Bible and quit you're whining.

Why is heterosexuality forced down everyone's throat? look at Disney movies, why are kids being taught that a woman is only valuable as something for Prince Charming to come and rescue? Why should kids be forced to see heterosexuals kiss all the time in these cartoons?
