did you buy HD cable or satellite? It costs extra compared to regular. They have to provide the specific hd channel for you to get it. It is a separate channel than regular ESPN. If you had a favorite channels list you have to check your All Channels often because they are changing and adding new channels. If you have an HDMI cable the TV communicates with the cable box or satellite box to set up the HD if it is there. Otherwise you have to check the resolution of the cable box and the TV to find the best stretch or crop to make the most natural picture

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can press that will instantaneously allow you to watch ESPN-HD.

You must order than channel first. Call your local HD or Satellite Provider to order. You will probably also need an HD receiver to watch an HD channels.

NFl games should already be in Hd, but if you have a Hd cable box that verizon, comcast, direct tv have. Then there should be a Fox/CBS/NBC Hd channel you can go to. That is all you will need to do. You have to have a HD cable box in order to get the HD channels
P.S. you might want to get HDMI Cables when you get a HD cable box to get even better picture quality
