I have tried a bunch of games and none of them work the audio is normal, i can hear everything i just can't see it when i put a dvd in it is black, but then goes to the dvd please please if u have any idea how to fix it plz help me

It sounds like you might have a connection problem with the cable that you are using. If you are using a component or composite cable with your T.V., make sure that all of the connections are in the correct places.
Also, make sure that your PS3 is updated to the lastest sofware version.
If the PS3 that you have is the 40GB PS3, it can't play PS2 games, so if you've been trying to play PS2 games, they won't work, but everything else should work fine.

Here's what you can do if your not seeing anything on your TV set. When your ps3 is in "standby" mode (thats when you see the red light on your ps3) press the power button (not the power switch behind the ps3) until you hear two beeps. Once you hear the two beeps you can let go of the power button and a screen should appear and you should be able to switch the video settings back to what you need for it to be. Hopefully this works for you.

well all i can say is check your connections are secure if that doesnt work then i think you put your ps3 in standby mode and hold the restart button for 10 second (or you might have to have it on not sure) but that will put your display settings to default and every think else
