By mistake :( He snatched it out of the holes under the box and I don't know if this McDonalds fry will be ok for him or not because it's so salty.

It'll be perfectly fine, as long as it stays a rare treat. My rats get bits & pieces of whatever I'm eating (whether it be home cooked, or fast food). They're healthy. :)

"Generally, if you would eat a food, you can give it to your rats. Here are some exceptions and notables:
raw dry beans or peanuts—contains antinutrients that destroy vitamin A and enzymes needed to digest protein and starches, and causes red blood cells to clump
raw sweet potato—contains compounds that form cyanide in the stomach
green bananas—inhibits starch-digesting enzymes
green potato skin and eyes—contain solanine, a toxin
wild insects—can carry internal parasites and diseases
raw bulk tofu—can contain bacteria, packaged raw tofu is safe
orange juice—forbidden for male rats only, d-limonene in the skin oil, which gets into the orange juice during squeezing, can cause kidney damage and kidney cancer due to a protein that only male rats have in their kidneys. Pieces of the orange fruit are okay if you wash the orange-skin oil off of it after peeling it."

It's ok as an occasional treat. Our rats *love* french fries, but they get them very seldom-- I rarely eat them & my SO usually forgets to give them a taste unless I'm right there to remind him. Usually 1 fry is divided among everyratty.

He'll be ok. My rats get KFC too. They share one of the combo bowls between the 6 of them. But we rarely eat there. Mostly they get lab blocks and a little dish of leftovers of whatever we eat.

My rats used to eat everything under the sun. He'll probably be really thirsty, so make sure he's got water!

History has proven rats to be the most durable creatures. I don't think one fry will kill him.

It won't hurt him, but you should really give him a burger and a milkshake to go with it. If you're eating a super-size combo, and all he gets is one lousy french fry, he's going to resent you for it.
