REV 18:23, but read in context with Rev 17 and 18

BABYLON SORCERIES HAD DECEIVED NATIONS . . .

Rev 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Wow, how forward thinking of you. That accusation has only been around for five hundred years. (Since the birth of Protestantism)

BTW, calling Catholicism "Popery" is like calling Protestants "fake Christians" and then expecting anyone to take you seriously. It's extremely rude (and the same term they were using 500 years ago.)

I am LMAO at your question.

First off--By 'popery,' do you simply mean 'having an ecclesiastical leader of one's religion whose title is 'Pope?''

That's what I mean by it. The idea of equating the practice of calling the Catholic Church's leader 'pope' with the practice of sorcery is ridiculous.

Or should I have said, 'ridikkulus?'

I agree that the Catholic religion is indeed tied to sorcery and witchcraft, etc..but I also think that there are sincere catholics that just don't SEE it or WANT to believe it.
