It is up to the convalescent to specify the malady.

Hi Vonhiggins,
That depends, on what the situation is... I have a friend who is recovering from a kidney-transplant...
After he/she is discharged home from the hospital, he/she must return daily for blood work.. and check ups for the first week, and he/she, must have someone stay with him/her for the first week.... (that is the normal routine)
>>>>>
You will also complete home records for fluid intake and urine output each day, and daily blood pressure, temperature, and weight... He/she can return to work in about 3 months.. if there are no complications....!
>>>>>
When there are complications, and you are discharged for a while, after a long hospital stay... (That's the case in my friends situation) ...
>>>>>
The best activities one can do, is find inner strenght/peace, make plans for the future.. take things easy... read a book, listen to music, watching television and have friends over who support you, unconditionally....
>>>>>
Maybe start writing a book... It is important for that person, that he/she is loved.. avoiding stress, or at least (try) ...It also depends in what state of mind the person is?? ..Or, how she/he is looking at the holidays...
>>>>>
Preparing her/him for the return, too... This is also important...
>>>>
Rest is also a critical factor, that has to be taking seriously....
For personal reasons, I can't go into much detail...about the complications...
>>>>
For other patients, this depends on what they can do, or can't do... What is there situation?? ..condition?? ..Limited as my friend?? ... I cannot answer that.... :s
>>>>>
Thanks, for the question!

My regards!

**Have a Merry Christmas**

Take care!
