it's dark brown, really thick, wavy, and pretty long, like down just past my bra strap. but i also have brown eyes, and a really tan complexion, so dying it anything i'm afraid would just look weird. i'm considering cutting it short, and getting a bob, but i'm not sure if i'm ready to part with all of it.
does anyone have any suggestions of something i could do with it

the only thing i'm afraid of with layers is that it would make my hair look really big, because it's so thick and wavy, and i live down south where it would frizz if i tried straightening in the summertime

depends on the structure of your face, if you have a narrow face a bob would look great but if your a big fat monster with 10 pounds of jowels hanging off each cheek you may consider LONG bangs!

It sounds like you have the same problem as I do, you can dye it, burgandy, auburn, or just black. straighting works to, it helps when you want to style it. For cutting it you can do layers which will make it shorter but not much and give you style. Just take a couple of hours one day to play with you hair and see what kinda things you can do and what looks best, but dont do that with dying or cutting. with that go online and find different styles that you think you would like and go from there. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I have been given some concepts for ya =D a million. positioned some dark Blonde, and a mild brown highlights 2. Get some layers probably some short ones for that uneven look or purely some longs ones. 3. Get some section swept bangs or the finished ones ( as i call them, those that disguise your finished head) 4. Straighten it possibly ? or shop it curly 5 in case you prefer to get funky colours like warm purple or blue i advise to place them interior the VERY front of you hair . was hoping i helped =D

dont get a bob omg!
I have dark brown, really really thick, wavy hair.
and it was long until I got it cut short and it looked terrible!
the worst haircut of my life! please dont do it, plus it takes forever to grow back and my hair grows fast to :'[ lol
try getting a few layers, and dying it a few shades darker on the bottom, it'll look good :]

p.s. layers make you hair look thinner not thicker :] also try thinning it out [it doesn't like mak eyou go bald or anything] its when they sorta take the special scissors and chop off the edges of the hair? idk what it does but it helps alot!

before you cut a lot off try layering or cutting a little off. dont just dive in and cut most of it off. BIG mistake. (trust me ive done it) yeah dont die it. leave it the color it is.

don't go with a bob. ik a girl who did who had curly hair, and people didn't really like it, mostly b/c they were used to her old look.
i would go with a haircut like this maybe:

try cutting ur hair up to ur shoulders to see if u like it. and carry on from there
try dying ur hair jet black, it will make ur complextion lighter.
