Actually, unless you are some kind of idiot, you won't tell you child, "hey guess what if you don't follow God then you're gunna burn in Hell and experience immense amounts of pain forever and ever" Obviously, that is stupid for two reasons: (1) The child will not fully understand what you are saying and (2) the child is not at the proper age to be exposed to it that graphically. Teaching your child about Hell is a gradual process -- not something that you just snap your fingers and say. The knowledge of Hell comes long with mental, emotional, and spiritual maturity -- just like teaching about sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.

And to answer your question -- no. Child abuse is when you are actually abusing the child at the moment. Some would like to claim that it is mental or emotional or maybe spiritual abuse. However, if you teach the concept of Hell as a gradual process (like any other "life lesson") then it is not being crude or inconsiderateor abusive because you are teaching it at the proper age whenthe child is ready to learn about it -- In other words, it is simply educating you child as they mature. (even if you do not believe in Christianity, your child will still eventually be exposed to the religion. .therefore, whether you choose to follow it or not, the concept of burning in Hell with still be taught. How can you claim that this is abuse without claiming all religions, or a lack of one, is abuse?)

It should be the very first thing every Christian teaches their child.

From the moment the child can talk they should probably be warned and terrified of it every day, morning and night. If God sends you there and you'll never be let out, you should think about it all day every day too. But that's only if you believe in eternal hell torture of course- teach your beliefs!

Not technically, but that sort of thing can cause phychological problems later on in life. Some kids take things like that really to heart and may start thinking they are going to hell for doing just normal everyday things. I think it's wrong to teach stuff like that at all, because how does anyone even know for sure there is such a thing in the first place?

first of all I don't teach kids or anyone else about hell, as much as above the sacrifice of Christ and His love that will keep people out of hell. There is a way to share the truth without making children scared. My 2 kids at the age of 5 accepted Christ because of His love. And besides if you do not share the truth with children or adult that would be abuse.

Do you think telling kids that they could get killed if they cross the street without looking both sides first is child abuse?;

Do you think telling a child not to talk to strangers lest they get kidnapped is child abuse?

Do you think telling a child not to stick things in the electric socket or they'll get electrocuted is child abuse?

These are all horrible, yet possible, outcomes when a child does something that could have been avoided had they been warned ahead of time.

No but parents should not teach them until 10 years old so as to hide the fact the religious God they are worshipping to praying to is a very violent God of hatred.

But maybe hell is a good thing to scare young people not to be criminals when they grow up but then they never listen anyway.

I don't know who YOU'VE been talking to, but I don't know ANY body who does that.

Now, you tell ME something - you asked, "Do you think teaching kids of eternal hell torture is child abuse? ", well, I ask YOU if you do NOT tell your children about the love of God and how much Jesus loves them as YOU recommend, and as a result they DO end up in hell, is THAT child abuse?

If you believe in "eternal hell torture" than it is important to educate your children in what you believe. Especially if you plan on raising them with your religion.

On the other hand, young children thrive on happiness, and while it may be an important subject to you, you could also bring it to their attention at a later age if you're worried about it being "abuse" to mention it now.

UMMM.....Yeah....there really is no eternal hell. We are all living hell here on earth. Our afterlife has to be much better then this. Let's face it, the world is not a nice place to be or to be raising a family. If you're teaching your children about an eternal hell, maybe that's my example in a nutshell.
