I don't stare at it, but sometimes when I drive I don't have much choice. I have to keep my eyes on the road and sometimes the sun is right there.

Yeah it is bad, when you are driving try to look more down than straigt. And if you need to use your visor and sunglasses that will keep most of the rays out of your eyes. It could cause some damage like seeing spots more when you are not driving in the sun, headaches, dizziness, and fatge. Be carfule

Exposure to sunlight can cause damage to your eyes so always wear sunglasses. A picture taken of the sun directly will damage a good camera so you should be able to figure out what it will do to your eyes. I think it may be worse if you have light eyes but my dark eyed sister was just told that she is developing cataracts from the sun and to always wear sun glasses when outdoors.

if u look at sun in the early morning when it is rising, its good for yr eyes but only for some time. not continuous. if it is in the afternoon when sun is very strong and hot, its harmful. u should not do that. if ur eyes are exposed to sun rays during this time, better avoid it, try to use dark shade goggles, visors of car etc.

Looking directly at the sun is very bad. My neighbor burned holes in his retina's by doing that and now he sees a single spot on whatever he is looking at.
Indirectly like that won't hurt, but it would probably be better if you wore sunglasses.
