Just seeing who gets this right and who gets it wrong. I'll give you a hint. It wasn't quoted from the Bible.

Very good - Mahatma Gandhi
Indian political and spiritual leader (1869 - 1948) is the correct answer. I find it humorous that Christians like to quote it not knowing who said it. Just goes to show how ignorant many Christians are of things outside the box they live in.

Seeker sensitive Christians say it a lot, that's about all I know. Its kinda weird to say that knowing that the Bible says that if we continue in sin we are children of the devil, and a bunch of other things like that.

I will make this a short answer, no need to drag it out. The most used scripture besides Ps:23, would be St. Jn. 3:16; For God so loved the (world), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And don't we know that we all were lost in our sins. And through the shedding of his blood, Mt.26:28, it was for the remission of sins. Read the 9th.cha.of Hebrews.
Especially verses 14-28, KJV. 1 Ti.1:15; This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Whoever asked this question, please go back to square one and start again. And please read what the bible says.

Although I did not know who first coined the phrase, I did indeed know that it is not a direct Biblical quote. Neither is, "spare the rod and spoil the child". The latter belongs to Mark Twain.

ps.....I use neither
