Not too many home remedys are sure fire ways to get rid of acne.If there was one , havent found it yet lol. Best way is to keep on top of ur proactive or better yet get your doctor to give you a different type of benzoyl peroxide formula(perhaps one with a higher %). The thing with Proactive is with alot of cases, the skin becomes used to it and it ends up not working as well, which is what happened to me and i had to switch to something else. Also, if you don't do so already try showering at night before you go to bed. I found that the side of my face I was sleeping on at night was the side getting acne the worst. So i started showering/washing my hair at night and it seemed to help alot since I was no longer sleeping on my oil from my face and hair. Try not to pick pimples and watch scrubbing your skin too hard when you are washing as this irritates the skin and makes the acne worse. This is all from personal experience , so i hope it helps. Good luck!

I use pure aloe. I have an aloe plant in front of my house and every night before bed I break off a leaf, slice off the thorny sides and then cut it so that the broadest part of the inside of the leaf is exposed. I smear the aloe gel directly onto my face and by morning I see a noticeable improvement. It doesn't smell good but having clear skin outweighs the bad odor (besides, the unpleasant odor only lasts maybe 5 minutes, tops). Just make sure you let the aloe dry before actually going to bed so that your pillow doesn't get messed up. If you have active acne, you will feel a slight burning sensation but it isn't terrible. As the aloe dries, it will make your skin feel tight (like an egg feels, if you've ever put egg white on your face). However, by morning, your skin won't have that "tight" feeling but it will look A LOT clearer. I have mild acne and use aloe nightly. If you have more severe acne, try using it in the a.m. and in the p.m. for faster results. Over time, the aloe will also help reduce any skin discoloration you may have that was caused by old acne. I have tried other natural acne treatments as well as prescription acne meds but aloe has been the best ever. I don't recommend using any kind of processed aloe (even bottles that say "100% aloe vera". You want it go directly from the plant to your face.

Nothing will just cure it like a miracle but you can certainly make a difference.

-keep applying creams like proactive or other benzoyl peroxide products prescribed by a dermatologist
-wash your face regularly with cool water
-change your bed linen especially your pillow cases
-wash your hair since all that grease goes on your pillow
-don't touch your face with your hands as your hands are full of oil
-get a prescription from your dermatologist for antibiotics

Yeah there are tons of things you can do to fight it and make a difference. Not a guarantee to rid you of acne though.

I would like to add that there is a naturally secreated protein on your face called defensin which melts away when you wash your face with hot water. And this defensin protects your skin against bacteria. I wouldn't wash my face with any soap just cool water or maybe some products.

Speaking from experience rubbing alcohol will dry it up in like a few weeks if you use it at least twice a day but it is very drying so moisturize with a good face cream for sensitive skin. Also witch hazel can help but the alcohol is better. Use it in a well vented room. and never in the eye or mouth area.

There aren't any..everyone's skin is different.. I'd try Proactive.. but that doesn't work for everyone. It helped me but it wasn't a solution to my problem. A lot of people say that Acne Free is the cheap version of Proactive that works just as well... keep trying until you find something.....it sucks, but that's what you have to do.

Heard about this, tried it but felt stupid altho it cleared up my face and then I heard a woman on Oprah talking about it. After you clean your face, rub lemon over it. It will burn a bit on acne and then rinse it off. I thought that maybe just the extra care helped me but that lady on Oprah verified that it works. Not only did my face clear up but the pores seemed to get smaller and my face was much smoother. And it's so cheap. I have a lemon tree in my back yard. . .

Nothing works for me and it sucks. But you could try Oxy. Also (and I know this sounds really weird), try putting a dab of honey on your pimple and the put a band-aid over it overnight. Good luck!

i read in the book "More Natural Cures" a year ago that taking vitamin A and E helps. and that along with a facial wash like Oxy, or Neutragena really made a difference.
