life is the only proof you need.
just look around. look at the plants growing, the wind blowing. look at a baby being born. look at all the miricles in our everyday world. your luckey you can see the sun set, and the moon rise every day and night. and its all made possible because of God.

Because the universe had a beginning. So the universe exploded into existence. What did it explode out of? Nonexistence? That is illogical. Did it create itself? You cant be both A and non A at the same time in the same time and in the same relationship.
It is very logical to believe that the universe was created by something other than itself than to believe that it self created, or has always existed or is some kind of illusion.
Chew on this for a second. If there was ever a time when there was no universe, no god, just absolutely nothing; then logically what could there possibly be now? Nothing! One of the basic laws or philosophy is out of nothing, nothing comes.

Wow...did you ask for a hornet's nest of answers.
There certainly is no "proof." It's based on faith. It's based on observations. It's based on experiences.
Miracles happen around us that have no explanation.
People have "near death" experiences that are too real to discount.
For me, proof of God, or a higher power, a creator, is manifested in our appreciation of what's around us. If we were merely biological dots in the universe, why do we love the feel off the wind on our faces? the memory of our first kiss? the smell of cinnamon?
I can't dismiss some higher power in motion when I look at jellyfish, or the pattern of sunflowers, or a nautilus shell. How can you look at the intricate shape of a snowflake and not be moved by the beauty?
No one single religion has a corner on salvation. Nobody has all the answers. We won't learn them until we've passed from Earth and are closer to "God" or whatever you'd like to call her ;) We'll have all the answers someday. Until then, I'll be enjoying cats and chocolate (although not in the same way) and birdsong and the full moon and babies and clementines and thunderstorms.

How can you NOT believe?

I think there are many different situations to your question. It depends on the person and the life in which they have lived so far. If they are thinking about how to believe in God and question 'how can I?' then there is an interest already within that person of who God is and where you can find the exsistance.
Although there are no photos or landmarks of God to prove the exsistance there is our minds and the state of mind we are in. I think believing is similar to hopes and dreams.
When a person hopes and dreams of their future, it is on most occassions for a better life, meeting someone or of being much greater then others expected. To hope is to believe, to believe that you can become someone or something. life is what you make it but there is nothing to prove that these hopes and dreams would happen.
For believing in God it is for some, believing there is a heaven. Where heaven is, God stands.
God is perseved in different ways depending on the religion they stand by or the teaching of their parents/friends.
For me I believe there is a God, I have been tought that God is not a he/she but something much greater. God looks after the people who have passed away and looks over the people who are still living. God can't prevent wars or stop someone from being violent. That is in the person hands and the paths they choose.
To answer your question, I think for a person to begin to believe without proff, and without believing in God before, there is a certain point or instance, that that person has to be at for this to happen.
When that person begins to believe it is at that point that they could be in a bad or difficult situation and want to change and they are trying to change and make it better, then God is there as a hope to believe in and a dream to be greater.

Well this is an age old question that people ask many times, year after year.
The existence of God (Jesus), has been proven in history from the times of the Old Testament. The Ark of the Covenant has been found, proof of the 40-year flood has been proven by archaeologists.
Jesus' life and death have also been proven historically by the Gospels in the Bible, and sites in Israel that archaeologists and Biblical scholars believe Jesus lived and walked.
So.....I don't know what other proof you need. Jesus was the Son of God. He walked the earth and admitted He was the Son of God, This is proof enough for me.

The Holy Bible, and Faith. Plus, as I already read someone say- look outside. Theres no way the world was randomly created. The chances of some.. dust and gas exploding and creating the world we live in now, is as rare as a tornado going through a paint shop and creating the Mona Lisa.
You simply just have to believe. God made this possible.

There's a book by Lee Strobel called "The Case for Christ" if you're interested in reality's proof, which, yes, is everywhere.
As a Christian there's a point where you accept things as His works...but that book sure helps a skeptic.
Another answer is that science explains "how" a lot happens. Faith explains "Who" and "why."
...and how can you say nothing proves it when we have so many miracles every day? Faith is about recognizing the small blessings in your life. Plus, ain't it depressing to think that this is all there is for us and when you die...you're done? ;-)
Happy Holidays! Take a moment and remember the reason for the season...keep in touch! I'd be happy to talk more about this with you!

Well, do you honestly believe that things just happen all by themselves? For instance, you just happened to be born? Because when you think about it biologically, there are multitudes of ovum and sperm, and the chances for your particular conception were one in a billion. You are here because God wanted you to be here. Do you think the seasons change all by themselves, or that all things on earth are here randomly?
However, you do pose an interesting question. You are one of those concrete people who have to have visual or audio proof in order to believe anything. You are missing part of your spiritual cognizance. I'm actually the same way, with one exception. I do believe in the spiritual. Admittedly, while I do believe in a Supreme Being, I often question the motives. For example, why bad things seem to always happen to good people. Where is the justice? Whatever happened to "An eye for an eye", or a "tooth for a tooth? These are the things I don't understand, and I am often angry with God, not because he makes those things happen, but because he does nothing to stop the evil forces. However, I am told we are not to understand him in this life. I'm not saying that I haven't been blessed in my lifetime, because I have many things to be thankful for. But sometimes my anger and confusion seriously challenge my faith. You are probably a lot like me in that respect. But I do disagree with your comment that nothing in reality proves he exists. It would be more accurately stated that often times we are disappointed with God, but even that particular emotion is part of his creation of you, me, and everyone and everything on this earth. I'd much rather believe, and find out when I die that there is no god, than to not believe and find out that there is. Think about that one. Good luck, and (pardon the expression) God bless!

No one can tell you he exists, only if you've had a personal experience with God will you know. How can you look at the stars at night or the mighty sea and not believe that there is a being somewhere out there that created all of this. It's foolish to believe that it all happened by chance. Now that's crazy....

I Agree with Ken H....exactly what more do you want Him to do to prove His existence? Some big sky show every night? Don't we have enough storms, cyclones, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires out of control and man's man-made screw-ups of our environment already?
No Faith means no dependence on God, no dependence on God means dependence on man, dependence on man means humanism, humanism means the worship of man, the worship of man means idolism, idolism means you end up in hell. Jesus put it this way: "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." He also explained it to Nicodemus this way in John 3:8: "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but cannot see where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone born of the Spirit." You will have to be
convicted by the Holy Spirit before you can even begin to believe.....I pray He opens your eyes soon to the evidence of His glory and His creation and His presence soon, before it is too late and you give in to humanism.
The other proofs of His existence are the prophecies of the Bible, which have been coming true for centuries, and continue to come true every day now....you would have to get off your lazy buttocks and study and read the Bible to find those prophecies and find their fulfillment, but it is well worth it. God cannot lie, and He can do nothing but love you...He will not give up on you, and one day, you WILL see His face, just hope that day is AFTER YOU BELIEVE. A Personal experience with Him is something one can never deny, once a person experiences it, and something one would even die for, as the early Christians and others in some countries are doing today. A relationship with Jesus is THAT real, my friend. Your life becomes His life within you, and once that happens, there is no turning back. "Christ in you, the hope of glory."

If your own logic and reason tells you that he doesnt exist - then WHY are you trying to beleive? It simply will not work.
I personally do beleive that he exists because I see the wonders of nature, the complex machine that is the human body, the universe. But if you dont see that, you dont accept that as proof, then you'll have to find your own proof.
Because you have already proved that you are CLOSE minded. You have already have decided that he does not exist - so please STOP trying to convert. You look and sound like a hypocrite.
