Im 15YO and I have this lymph node on my right groin thats been there for about 3 to 4 years. It is 1cm in diameter. It isnt rock hard and it isnt overly soft. It is VERY mobile. It has never hurt or anything. The thing is, you can barely even see it when I look in the mirror. In fact I never really see it unless I rock my body forwards and then, obviously, I can see it. Its sort of the same way with my left side. I have one in the exact same spot on the left. Im tall and lenky so I dont know if that has anything to do with it (6' 4" and 180 lbs.). I started lifting and working out 3 or 4 years ago (No it is not a hernia) for my college football career at UCLA. Everyone of my friends all tell me that this is definitely nothing and Im worrying over nothing. Im a HUGE hypachondriac. Please dont say go to a doctor. I dont like doctors. But anyways everyone has said this is nothing and I need to calm down and enjoy life. Are they right? I have had no symptoms of anything cancerous ever.

If it's been there for 3-4 years and hasn't grown any it's PROBABLY nothing to worry about. Since you don't like Doctors, if it is something, why not wait until it spreads through your entire body, putting you in great pain, perhaps immobilizing you, making you sterile, destroying your brain.I don't know if you graduated from UCLA, but if you did, you should have played less football and studied more.GO SEE A DOCTOR. Then since you are an admitted hypochondriac you can go on to next malady, which probably won't kill either. However, the good news is when you do die, you can look up from the coffin and say--quite honestly--"See,I told you I was Sick"! You'll probably be 90.

Unless your friends have a medical degrees, them saying "it's nothing" mean absolutely nothing.

The only way to find out is to be examined by a doctor. If you don't want to go to a doctor, then keep worrying.

I wouldn't rule out anything. Your body has something that is not supposed to be there. It could be something, it could be nothing. You'll never know, unless you are examined and diagnosed.

By the way, I had lymph nodes removed from my neck years ago as doctors suspected it may be cancerous. It turned out to be nothing, but that diagnosis was only available after surgical removal and lab testing. I had zero symptoms other than I can feel the mass that moves when pushed.
