Actually NYE is less dangerous now then it was in the past. Most bars and clubs have adapted and now stay open late (well after the normal closing time) but they cut off alcohol service at the normal time. Many also offer packages that include a hotel room, and shuttle service!
Seeing as you are going to be driving home earlier than most people who are leaving parties, the threat of drunk drivers is less. This being said, I would bet that you are not going to convince your parents. Even though you are legally an adult, if it is their car or their insurance they have the control!
Either find a different way to get to the concert, or find something else to do on NYE.
Sorry

It's gonna be hard since you're 14.. but there's no harm in trying! If you have a cell phone you can say you'll check in every so often to reassure them that you're okay. Say how mature you are and how you and your friends can make smart decisions, etc. From another perspective, I know you want to go but it may not be all that you expect. You're 4 years younger than the people at this party. They're gonna be drinking their lives away. I hope you don't have intentions of drinking.. Trying to keep drunk and horny 18yr old boys off you is going to be a challenge and something you should not have to do. I'm all for throwing your own party with friends your age.

Maybe get a carpool with a friend who has more driving experience?
But I think your parents are right. No one in their right mind should be driving an hour and 15 minutes back home at night on new year's eve. I wouldn't do that even though I've been driving for years.

They are right. So cut them a deal. Have them drive you there and pick you up.
Or
Put up the money for limo service there and back. Being able to do that will be less stress both for you and your parents. Besides, this way you can do the concert "in style".

If you live with your parents (I'm assuming you do), they pretty much make the rules. BUT, since you are a legal adult, they really can't force you to not go. So it's basically a judgment call. Do what you think is right. Good luck

Your parents have no say in it as you are 18 years old now.
