I'm wondering if it's possible to make your eyes look in opposite directions, like the reverse of crossing them. I can do it with my vision a tiny amount, but nothing significant enough for anyone to see if they're looking at me.

It can't be done unless you have something wrong with your eye muscles! Converging them is something we do when we read, so going cross-eyed is easy. The way the muscles are wired, you cannot stimulate them to look out at the same time. However, it is possible (I can do it!) to make one eye stay still and the other one look out (but not BOTH out).

I'm the same as you, RH/LED. I was taught to shoot righty as a kid and am a very good shot, if I say so myself. I tended to squint my left eye closed more than I should, because it wants to naturally sight. One of the reasons I like peep sights or open sights as opposed to scopes is that I can use the left eye and shoot righty. A few years back I bought my wife a left handed Savage .270 rifle and I was very surprised at how easily and naturally I was able to shoot it lefty. With a little practice, I was good enough to use it to hunt with (I don't have another .270). While I'm not fully ambidextrous, it's easy to train to shoot both ways. With a pistol, you want to shoot with what is most natural to you. If you find your left eye naturally points the pistol, just go with it and hone your skills that way. There is no good reason to force yourself to aim right with a handgun.

You mean making yourself wall-eyed? You can do that if you have weak eye muscles or possibly if you had surgery to fix crossed eyes.
