It means that he sees limits to this relationship.
He has already decided how far it will go and believes that your intentions go beyond what he is willing to give.
He also knows that you would be hurt if you invested time and energy, and love only to find out later that you were never going to get what you wanted out of the relationship.
Be thankful that he is honest and not like the pigs that get what they want and leave without concern.
Sounds like a nice guy but you need to look elsewhere for what you want in a relationship. but keep him as a friend.

Ouch! He doesn't want you to get attached. If you are seeing him as more than a friend, don't expect it to be anything more than casual. He is slowly trying to hint that there will never be anything like that between you. In other words, he's just not that interested, and doesn't want you to get the wrong idea in any situation. Been there and done that, more than once.
And if that's something you don't want to hear from a guy, then maybe you should consider finding some one who wouldn't mind getting attached and committing. Because there are actually guys out there who will.

It refers to a lot statements which basically mean the same thing. You can choose from I do not want to hurt you, I do not want to lead you on,I like you but not the way you like me, I like you but I do not want a romantic relationship with you,If I tell you that I love you I would be lying to you .and making you believe something that was not true. All of these statements although different actually mean the same thing and with the same sentiments. I hope it helps you understand what the phrase means.

then he,s probley just using you. just say wow,I felt the same about you,and didn,t want to string you along,let him wonder about that. either way,if you think you love him,your getting hurt,so walk away with some pride and satisfaction.

What it exactly means is that he doesn't want to go on with the relationship because it's not going anywhere. IF the relationship were to go on you'd get hurt he doesn't want that to happen. He's sparing you a big hurt.

It means he doesn't want you to go with him, he doesn't want you to follow him to wherever he's going. OR that he's done with you, he's moved on.
