as to whether it is a good idea to go out in the door to door minestry on Christmas day.

I could bring up a slew of responses from Witnesses as to why we should respect their beliefs, but is this too far for you?

Would it be a blatant lack of respect for your beliefs, if a Witness came to your door on Christmas day?

Why are you called to be tollerant of their ways when they are being called to be disrespectful of yours?

You asked a good question Lamb! You have to be careful of the definition of tolerance. A Biblical definition is, is knowing what should be tolerated and what shouldn't.

I support free speech but don't support heresy!

A good way to do this is to compare morality with the Ten Commandments and other "teachings" to the teaching Jesus taught.

If a witness came to my door on Christmas I wouldn't consider it a disrespect of my beliefs but I would consider it Biblical target practice. I can see how others would be offended, especially those who know they are cult members and don't really know how to answer them and that can lead to a lot of slammed doors and being threatened at gunpoint especially on such close family holiday.

As Christians we are not to be tolerant of anything that contradicts God's Word. We are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." Matt. 10:16

And we can use the Sword to make false prophets squirm!

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb. 4:12

BTW, Merry Christmas Sister! Much love to you and yours!

I would be very irritated if they came knocking on Christmas day.I wouldn't be open to listening to them on a religious holiday to all but them and a select few.

If they should happen by my house, I'd welcome them in, offer them some hot toddy, and tell them to let down their hair. Hey, it's Christmas after all.

Peace be with you.
