I would like to cook something in the oven in my crockpot insert. Does anyone know if it would cause it to crack, or if 350 would be too hot? Thanks!

Yes. Stoneware is great for kitchen/utility pieces because it is so incredibly durable. You can use it in the oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher without harming it.
Be sure you have a stoneware and not a earthenware. For this check, http://stoneware.seeleys.com/html/what_is_stoneware.html

That's not true - 350 might be a bit hot, but my crockpot reaches every bit of 300 when it's on high - I've watched it with a thermometer while I was cooking a stew. I would be careful about how quickly I ask it to cool, and 250 would be better than 350.

Using a crockpot insert in the oven is fine. It's made to take the heat, just make sure (like any glass or stoneware, or high dollar pots and pans) you don't cool it off to quickly or it may crack. As for cooking with it, it's fine.

Stoneware is not the same as Pyrex which is oven safe. Pyrex is cheap. I suggest investing in some Pyrex ovenware. An added advantage is that you can freeze leftovers in the same dish, and Pyrex can go from freezer to oven without danger of breaking.

Sorry but you cannot use it in the Oven. It would crack. If I'm not mistaken I think it says on the directions that come with the crock pot that it is nonot to be used in the oven or on top of the stove. They are designed strictly to be used in the canister that they come with...
