My word of advise to you if your mom is crying then you should go give your mom a hug and tell her how much she means to you and its a special day if know one wanted to say happy birthday then they aint important but the people that did say happy birthday is the one that she should think of then tell her you wanna go do something just u and her and it will cheer her up then u can have your friends arrange a surprise party

She is very lucky to have a daugher like you that cares so much about her. There are so many sons and daughters out there that just take their Moms for granted. Just let her know you are there for her and you love her, and that alone will make her happy! Maybe you two could rent a good movie, and have fun watching it together, or go shopping to cheer her up. You could suggest something she likes to do, and you could go with her, like out for lunch or dinner. Its wonderful that you are so caring. Hope she feels better soon.

Uh - buy her some self-esteem? I don't mean to be as flippant as this probably comes out sounding, but your mom sounds like she really has low self esteem, and likes to be made much of and to play the victim, when she needs to be in charge! It's just a birthday, for heaven's sake - just one day out of 365. She is giving everyone else the power to make her miserable, all they have to do is do NOTHING, which is really easy. She needs to learn to cherish and take care of herself. If you can, sit down and tell her this - maybe she could take a course on building self-esteem; CareerTrack runs a good one; it could change her life. And yours!

Please help your mom to understand that we are responsible for our own happiness. Sure, she can get upset but there's no need to cry over this. If no one calls to wish her a happy birthday, she can go out and do something that would make herself happy. She needs to learn to make herself happy instead of relying on others to make her feel good. No one lives to make another person happy. Everyone has to take responsibilities and make themselves happy.

Tell her how much she means to you, take her out, dinner, movie, get her flowers, rent movies that she wants to watch and watch them with her. Tell her that she is a wonderful person.
