I tried to have the TV make it full screen, but then it stretches it.

I don't want it stretched, makes people look weird

Is that normal to have black lines, my TV is widescreen, so I don't know why I would get black lines

Depends on how wide are those black lines.
If they are a few pixels wide, then
your TV most probably does not overscan in HDMI mode so you see the extra lines.
Check if your TV is in 1:1 mode (or pixel to pixel). If yes, switch to 16:9, it will add a little bit of overscan so you can't see those lines.

If the lines are very wide, then the source (DVD movie) was recorded in a ratio different from 16:9. This is NORMAL. movies are created in a variety of x:y ratios.

TV Guy is right, but in laments terms, that is the format that the source programming was shot in. It is normal for the picture to still do that when watching movies from DVD, HD-DVD, or Blu Ray. The same somtimes happens when a HD channel chooses to show a movie at its native aspect ratio instead of stretching it to your screen size. It is usually best to leave the picture as it was intended so nothing gets distorted.

The lines arise from incompatible picture geometry between the video source and the television set. The set will have a control which will let you select the best geometry for the picture being viewed. This may change depending on whether the video source is 4:3, 16:9, or letterboxed or not.

I think it's fine as long as the eyeliner isn't applied too heavily to the bottom of the eye. A thin application like that in the two pictures that you posted looks fine and, I think, highlights the eye very well. I've seen people, however, that really lay it on thick at the bottom. That tends to look too heavy and overdone.

Go to your picture menu setup and experiment on the screen that you like. Simple as that.
