Age isn't a factor. If you have coverage for wind/wind blown objects, it will cover the damage to the siding. You won't get the whole house resided, though, on the standard homeowners policy. Usually the MOST would be, just the one side. And the least would be, just the damaged area. Subject to your deductible, of course.

You should be reimbursed for the siding on that side of the house only. Siding that old, most insurance adjusters know it can't be matched, but they won't pay to replace the siding all the way around your home. You could also ask for an allowance for the fact that now you have a home with different siding on different sides. This obviously will have an affect in resale. As an insurance adjuster I wouldn't, have a problem with this.
Taking old siding from a place not seen very much and patching the broken place is an idea. Then replace the siding of the hidden area. Or you could bite the bullet and pay to get the rest of the house new siding while the insurance only pays for one side.
Without seeing the damages and the information given; this is a typical adjustment for homeowners regardless of what state your in.

They will pay to repair the damaged side/area. They will not replace all the siding on your entire home. They do not owe you an exact decorative match.
If the damaged area is on the front of the home - and replacing that damaged area would be noticeable from the street - have the repair person take siding off the back of the home (that people don't see - possibly low down where bushes can hide it) and use that siding to repair the damage to the front. Put the new siding that does not quite match on the back where the other siding came from.

there is no matching provision in your policy.
the best you could do is have that elevation replaced. if there is any damage to the other sides of the home from flying debris, for example, you might be able to do the rest...

You are entitled to have the siding repaired. If it is permanently finished siding or similar which must match, you should be able to get them to replace the entire siding on the house. They may quibble and balk, but be persistent.

They will pay to do the whole side of your house if thats what it takes to match, but consider first what your deductable is and the possibility of your rates going up vs. what this would cost you.
