JC is NOT the king of the Jews, that was a title he bestowed upon himself. Jews do not accept him as a king, prophet, son of a god, messiah, or anything. That is why people who DO accept him as such are Xians and not Jews. No Jew believes in JC as a god or messiah--those that do are apostate Jews, and are simply people trying to pretend to be something they are not in order to fool other people. It's pathetic and sad, but woe is life.

Jesus was not only a good Jewish Rabbi - but also one of the first Christians. Christians consider the old and new testaments as one work; Jews stop at the end of the Old Testament with their worship.
It's simply the beginning of a new faith with a more personal relationship with G-d. The Jews believe in the old fire and brimstone G-d without the Christ incarnate. Those Jews of the past who were said to await the Messiah were hoping for a warrior leader, as the Jews were constantly on the defense throughout the Old Testament. Jesus' message was to turn the other cheek.
Today Jews continue to pray to the G-d in the Old Testament because they are commanded in the Old Testament that they shall have no other gods before them but the One (see 10 commandments.)
Christians are not Jews because they have accepted the personal connection of G-d offered through Jesus. They do, however, accept the Old Testament as well as the New Testament, as the roots of the two faiths are the same. Christianity just evolved in a different direction.

Quite simple...they don't understand or have never taken the time to research where their religion actually came from...

Other answers here have already given the truth about Jesus, and where Christianity came from (see: Paul)...

but the simple answer to the question as to why they are not Jews themselves, is that they haven't done the research on the subject to realize the true nature of their "Messiah" (i.e. King in Waiting)...

Christians, when worshipping Jesus the Christ, are essentially worshipping a huge failure...thats not to say the Jesus wasn't a wise or great or noble or brave man, but...he didn't succeed in his mission...

Jewish theology/prophecy held (holds) that eventually a Messiah (King in Waiting) would (will) return to claim the thrown of Israel, in Jerusalem, for the Jewish people...Jerusalem at the time was controlled by Roman forces (see Pontius Pilatus), and it was Jesus along with his Qumranian/Nasorean/Church of Jerusalem followers who tried to fulfill this prophecy and reclaim said throne...only, he didn't make it, he failed...i don't hold it against him, lots of great people have attempted things and failed, chalk it up to bad luck, not a flaw with the person making the attempt...

That is also why the Jewish believe that though Jesus was real, he wasn't the Son of God, wasn't the chosen one, etc...because he tried, but didn't succeed...had he succeeded, then, he would indeed be heralded by the Jewish folk as the fulfiller of their prophecies, and the rightful heir to the throne of Israel...

peace...

The first Christians were Jews with a few gentiles who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Then Saul(Paul) was converted on the way to Damascus by an already ascended Jesus. He was given the job of bringing the Good News to the gentiles. Paul was a Jew and a Pharisee who used to persecute the Christians. The Apostles had the task of ministering to the Jews.
I don't understand myself why so few Jews are Christians. I guess Jesus wasn't their idea of what a Messiah would be like. They should have paid more attention to the Old testament prophecys.

At first really the first Christinas still consider themselves Jewish. They still believe so because they worship only the same God only that Christians believes in Jesus. But some people during that time (like St.Paul) insist that Christianity is different with Judaism. Because the latter was tribal and not universal. And if the 'Jesus Sect' remained Jewish it cannot survived because many gentiles (non jewish) find it hard to accept Jewish laws.

The Christian church was set up by Paul one of Jesus's people. It was because at that time, the jews had just murdered Jesus. Its a sort of section of the same thing. The Jews were going one way and Jesus was saying...nope, you got it wrong...go this way...Jews do not accept Jesus was the son of God and they dismiss the new testament. Christians have accepted Pauls word for it and go with that. I love and admire the Jewish people but I do go the Christian way.

Christianity is a descendant of Judaism.

The distinction between Christians and Jews lies in whether or not they believe that Jesus is the son of God, the Messiah. Jews believe Jesus is not the son of God. Christians believe he is.

While I do not purport to be a Bible scholar or anything, it is my understanding that the Old Testament largely meshes with Jewish teachings. It is only when Jesus comes into play that the religions seriously part company.

Jews do not think that Jesus was the son of G-d, or the messiah. Indeed, this is directly contrary to Jewish belief.

They also do not believe he was "king of the Jews."

Some people call themselves "messianic Jews," but they are actually Christians.

Jesus is the king of the Jews but they didn't technically mean that he was Jewish and people think that Jewish people are rich but they're not well some of them are but, they're mostly the same as christians but I'm not sure if I'm right because nobody is probably even going to be right once they answer this question because Jesus is the only one who knows the answer and we'll find out once we get to Heaven and ask Jesus well, probably

First of all there are many people that dispute Jesus being jewish. Setting that aside, Christians believe that Jesus died for there sins and that Jews betrayed Jesus. Jews do not believe that Jesus was the son of god. which is why christians believe and jews don't.
