Techinically if you believe and follow the Bible, Yes it is a sin. In the Bible it states that the sole purpose of marriage is to procreate. So, I guess I am going to hell then seeing that I have never been married but I have a 3 year old son. HAHA!!!

becoming pregnant is hardly the problem, the reason why it happend is more important than the fact that it happened.
i don't know why you are concerned with this question as though it really matters.
this is like a man who kills people for a living and suddenly stops and thinks, if i step on this snail, is it going to be a sin..
the same for most people.
look, we are all sinners.
now what next?
Jesus died on the cross so we no longer are condemned. he took the death penalty for us so we can be cleansed.
so the next step is?
Love God above all,
Love your neighbor as yourself.
ignore all the stupid superstition, everything is situational.
God can see the motives of the people not just the action itself.
now if pregnancy comes because of LUST or Rape, what matters is what you do after that. Past is past.
what are you going to do with your future is what matters.
Do you go and do the same thing over and over again like a retard, or do you live a new life, and be BORN again. .
I'm not talking about a religious group.
I am talking about a way of living life.
You used to live life for yourself, well now, think of everyone as your family.
If you are BORN AGAIN into God's family then EVERYONE is your brother and sister. In this case, you don't just earn money so you can buy your family a house, but you concern yourself also with all those poor people around you.
thats what it means.
now if you want to know what sin really is?
sin is knowing what I just told you and simply ignoring it.
God doesnt give a care about your question, he is more concerned about your whole life than something that happens in the past that you can simply repent from.
so what are you going to do with your money now?
waste it? spend it?
or use it to help the poor?
I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT DONATING IT TO A FREAKING PRIEST.
I am talking about helping poor people.
Grace and Peace, Wisdom to the humble.

First, God's peace and mercy be with you.
What's sinful is the pre-marital sex. If a pregnancy results, the child inside is not a sin, since no human life could ever be wrong. All children are blessings from God.
If someone is pregnant before marriage, they can go to confession and be forgiven. God's love and mercy are infinite. There is nothing beyond His reach that can't be forgiven. Remember that. He looks on us with smiling eyes when we go to Him, especially after we've done something wrong, because He loves us and wants us to be with Him. Nothing makes His heart happier.
Keep this in mind, and whoever is pregnant, take good care of the baby.
God bless and Merry Christmas.

A sin is when you disobey the LORD.
We all fall short of the Glory of God (Ro 3:23 ), but we can repent and ask Him for forgiveness for every sin, except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Mt 12:31) . . . even for becoming pregnant before you are married.
Mary, mother of Jesus is the exception to this because she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit of God. She was a virgin, in order to have the perfect body for the perfect Son. (Mt 1:18)
I pray this helps you.
May God Bless You

The biblical answer is:
Rom 14:23
and everything that does not come from faith is sin .
NIV
In the case of the Virgin Mary, she became pregnant based on her faith in God's will.
Luke 1:35-38
35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37 For nothing is impossible with God."
38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

I think that is wise and good to make provisions for the healthy upbringing of your children before you conceive them. This applies to both males and females. Traditional marriage is the most common way to do so, but there are other ethical possibilities.
I think it is a big mistake (call it a sin if you will) to create a child without a good way to raise that child.

It really depends, if it was an accident,no. But if you meant to get pregnant without getting married, yes. You may ask, what about Mary, well she was sure that she loved Joseph. She was sure that this man was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. So it really depends on what the person thinks of the other and how it happened. So if you plan on getting pregnant before, make sure it is fine with the people who love you and make sure that the other person is sure they love you. And don't forget, make sure it is fine with YOU.

This is how Mary became pregnant with Jesus. She was almost due when they were married and left for Bethlehem. However, she did not have sex before marriage. This was a special child born of God. For you to have sex outside marriage is a sin. I myself had sex before I got married. It is a sin, but not an unforgivable sin. A child is a blessing, no matter how it comes about.

If the couple marry then obviously no. Their baby would be sanctified by marriage before God and man.

No. How did all the people get here before the Bible was invented? Or before marriage was invented for that matter.
It's just something that was made up because at that time they had a bunch of women with children that they could not care for, so they made that law/sin so that the women and children would have someone to provide for them.
Things are different now.
