Sometimes I make a mistake & don't realize that the driver of the other car arrived at a stop sign just a split second before I did. Or sometimes I don't notice that I arrived there first just an instant before they did. The timing all looks so close, so I tend to assume we got there at about the same time. I am not sure what to do cuz it's hard to tell the very small difference in time.

I believe in most states the driver on the right has the right of way if two or more cars arrive at an intersection controlled by stop signs at the same time. I've driven many states and it seems to be universal.

It's a matter of common courtesy. When 2 drivers get to a stop sign at the same time, it's whoever lets the other go first or whoever goes first. Be safe and offer to let the other go first and avoid a problem.

Here in the US, when coming upon a 2,3 or 4 way stop, whoever comes to a stop first has the right of way. When everyone comes to a stop at the same time, you yield to the vehicle on the right. When I am in a situation where you just described, I usually let the other person go just to be safe. I usually wave them on and wait till they pass.

the safest thing to do is to give the right of way to the other driver when you are unsure. you may think you have the right of way, but so may the other driver. better to be safe than sorry

When in doubt it's the person to the right that has the right of way , or you could just let the other person go first and be safe .......

Use common sense. Waive the other vehicle thru. That driver may then waive you thru. When in doubt--wait.

Give the other people the right of way. Reason---- stupid people are easier to see in front of you.
