Where I live, even the Jewish, Muslim, and Pagans celebrate the holiday, whether they celebrate the birth of Jesus or not! And I do know some people from other faiths that will be celebrating December 25th.

So, why do we have to avoid saying Merry Christmas? It seems like those who worry we might offend someone want to placate a small but vocal minority?

I LOVE Merry Xmas.

I am offended by Happy Holidays. First because I am not political, and second because I very much prefer to think for myself. I am my own person. I prefer to make my own decision about what I can say and do, and not have someone else tell me.

I am a Deist, NOT a christian. And I do not want to be politically correct. I do not mind if I hear Happy Hannukkah, or Happy Kwanzaa or Happy Diwali (however that goes).

But I do mind that someone thinks that they have to follow the political party line and say Happy Holidays. That, to me is someone who cannot make their own decision - they just do and say what they are told.

I hate those kind of people.

Merry Christmas, 'may the force be with you'! Merry Christmas, Y/A! Merry Christmas, R&S! Merry Christmas, report-nazis who want to delete this because it's 'not an answer'...yes, people who get offended over 'Merry Christmas' remind me of both the grinch and mr scrooge..so there! and people who get offended over 'Happy Holidays' make me wonder how you can get offended by a greeting that starts with the word 'happy'...so, happy holidays to all, whatever holiday(s) you choose to celebrate!

Actually, I haven't seen any complaining about "Merry Christmas" All the complaining seems to be against "Happy Holidays"

Neither greeting offends me, but I am offended at all the hate mongering going on over the phrase "Happy Holidays" and all the bearing of false witness over it as well.

So much for "Peace on Earth, Good will towards men".

I have yet to hear from anyone who has ever been offended by someone saying "Merry Christmas". All the stink has been about people saying "Happy Holidays", as if there was something wrong with covering all bases.

Someone is hypersensitive, and it's not the ones you seem to think.

saying merry christmas is the correct way to celebrate this holiday season. It is a vocal minority, that is trying 2 get Christ taken out of everything, including the Pledge of Allegience. It is not something that should be done. Merry Christmas is in celebration of Christ's birthday, and if it wasnt for him, we would not be here. So spread the holiday cheer, and say MERRY CHRISTMAS at the top of ur lungs to everyone u see. they can suck it up if they dont like it.

Say Merry Christmas, I like saying Merry Christmas.
Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is a most joyful time of year. I will say Merry Christmas anytime I choose to.
If someone is pretending to be offended then let them be the way they have chosen, and tell them Merry Christmas for me.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I'm offended by Christians that are offended over happy Holidays. After all, Holidays mean Holy day. Was not Jesus birth a Holy day? Then why all the bitching?

LOL, yes, sometimes they do. It seems as if everything offends them. Scrooge and the Grinch are great comparions to the way some people act. Be happy! Live your life and let others live theirs.
