I have a wedding coming up very soon and my theme is Fairytale (cinderella). I would like to do some of my favors myself to add the personal touch. What kind of crafty favors could I do relating to my theme?

Getting crafty with the favors can be a real pain in the butt. I would try buying most of the materials and then just assembling them.

I was in a wedding once and I helped tie the personalized tags onto the wedding favors. You know the ribbons that say, "Bill and Jane, December 23, 2007"

It took forever and was really annoying after a while. I couldn't even imagine DIY my own 150 favors.

You can buy nice favors for relatively cheap. I saw heart shaped cookie cutters somewhere on line (i don't remember where). They were 50 cents a cookie cutter. You could do that and then design your own tags w/ your favorite cookie recipe on there.

The whole thing could be less then $2 bucks a favor (which is pretty cheap) and a lot less time consuming.

Honestly, I hate wedding favors. They are a waste of time and money and people usually take them but toss them.

I love your theme though so why don't you take the money you set aside for the wedding favors and donate it to a charity - like a kid's medical charity and then create "fairytale" place cards for people - one side with their table number; the other would say - "in lieu of favors, the bride and groom have made a donation in your honor to "name of charity" to make other fairy tales come true".

They make plastic glass slippers that you could use to put some kind of candy in. There is a picture at the bottom of this page (I don't like how they decorated theirs though).

A cost effective favor is a candy buffett. Buy clear bags, fill 3 bins with with your fav. candy. I am doing it for my wedding for 70 dollars! People will love it, its different.

buy small photo frames .....put in a nice photo of you and groom as a memento.
or
make some small candles(shaped) in your wedding colours with a nice bow etc and leave on tables with some homemade chocolates
or
small wooden ornaments, such as a rocking chair....and do some caligraphy with the dates, names, times etc of your wedding
or
for a really nice one but you would need to have your photographer or someone at the door to take photos of your guests arriving at the reception and print them .....if not possible on the day....you could use those photos and send personalised thankyou cards.
