1] can a muslim enter a church, for studying history or photography?like an old historical church...
Yes, a Muslim can enter a church for the purpose you have mentioned. Till the person doesn't 'participate' in the worship. Second point to remember is to respect the people there but, at the same time remember that you should not attribute the deity there as a partner to Allah.
2]can a muslim woman enter the men's section of the masjid for the same reasons?or it is not allowed?
Yes a women can enter the men's section of the Masjid, for the reasons you have mentioned as well as to pray. There are no restrictions against it.

are you asking: is it allowed in Islam or not? then yes I think but if you are asking about mosque and church rules, then you should take the permission for the church as maybe its not allowed to take photos and it is a kind of respect, there are lots of historical churches in Egypt that you can visit like the hanging church (al kanisa al mo3alaqa) and for the mosque you should ask emam el masjid and you should go on other timings than prayer timings ( you shouldn't go when they are praying ) go when it is empty better and ask the emam ...and that if the mosque have 2 sections for men and women ..and you want to go to the men's section.

A Muslim considers Mosque, Church & Synagogue as places of sanctity as these are the places where believers pray & praise God All-mighty. Visiting worship places of God is allowed in Islam for any good reason & with good intentions, of course, with the due permission of the People of the Book.

1) Entering Churches is not haram, unless the purpose behind it is to to participate with the Christians in their feasts or religious rituals, or to see the statues and crosses that are in it.
This is the opinion of the majority of scholars
2) Yes it's allowed .. during the time of the prophet (sas) there were not separate sections for men and women.
